Vinesh Phogat is one of the most popular Indian female wrestlers, and she has been making the nation proud with her exceptional talents. However, in a shocking turn of events, Vinesh was disqualified from the women's 50kg wrestling Final at the 2024 Paris Olympics for being overweight by mere 100 gms. This was a major setback to Vinesh, who worked hard to represent India at the International sports event. After much appeal and trial, she failed even to bag the silver or bronze medal and returned to India on August 17, 2024.
Upon her return to India, Vinesh Phogat was met with an overwhelming show of support. Despite the heartbreaking disqualification at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the wrestler was moved to tears by the sight of her devoted fans. Their unwavering encouragement and the warm welcome she received helped Vinesh cope with the disappointment. She was honoured with garlands of flowers and money as she made her way through the crowd, a testament to the unity and encouragement in the sports community.

Vinesh brother and other family members were present at the airport to receive her. Talking to the media about Vinesh's return to India after her astonishing performance at the 2024 Olympics, her brother, Harvinder Phogat said:
“Vinesh is returning to the country. People have come here at the (Delhi) airport to welcome her. People are also waiting to welcome her at our village. People are excited to meet Vinesh and encourage her."
Not just fans and family but fellow wrestlers too came to receive Vinesh at the airport. Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik hugged her, and the former even lifted Vinesh on his shoulders and cheered for her. Sakshi and Bajrang continuously wiped Vinesh's tears, tried their best to make her feel better, and celebrated her achievements, barring the results.

Vinesh Phogat's never-say-die attitude has been the driving force behind her journey to the 2024 Olympics. Recalling her battle after the fateful night of August 6, 2024 Vinesh shared that she and her team gave their all. However, the timing was not right, and neither was her fate. In Vinesh's words:
"All I want to say is that we did not give up, our efforts did not stop, and we did not surrender, but the clock stopped, and time wasn't fair. So was my fate."
In her heartfelt three-page open letter shared on X, Vinesh Phogat expressed her profound gratitude to all those who supported her on this journey. From her coach to the supporting staff to the medical team and more, Vinesh hailed everyone for standing by her side during her toughest times and fighting the battle on equal footing. Their unwavering support and dedication, despite the unfavorable timing, is something Vinesh deeply appreciates.
