After his heated shoulder-barge moment with Sam Konstas, the Australian crowd hurled abuse at Virat Kohli in the stadium. He reacted angrily to the booing and abuse.
Virat Kohli is one of the most talented cricketers in India, whose 4s and 6s often leave his fans screaming at the top of their lungs. Virat, being Virat, always proved how much he gives it all to the game, and obviously, his contribution to Indian cricket is unmatchable. Virat often found himself in the middle of controversy, and while he has fans worldwide, he also had to face booing when the time was not right for him. The same incident happened again, and this time, not only booing, but he also had to face abuse during day 2 of his fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
It all began with Virat Kohli's shoulder-barge moment with 19-year-old Australian debutant, Sam Konstas at the Melbourne Cricket Ground during day 1 of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. For the unversed, it was during the 10th over when the Australian cricketers were exchanging pitches, and an accidental shoulder-bump moment happened between Kohli and Konstas, leading the duo to engage in heated words. Talking about the same, Konstas stated that emotion got both of them, and he didn't realise this, and such things happen in cricket. Konstas can be heard saying:
"I think the emotions got to both of us. I didn't quite realise as I was doing my gloves. But, it happens in cricket."
Amid this, the Australian crowd did something unacceptable. During day 2 of the fourth test, when Virat made his way to the stadium, the Australian crowd was seen chanting derogatory abuses and offensive slurs. The crowd was seen making some mean comments like 'wanker' and more while Kohli was fielding near the boundary.

When such an incident took place, Kohli was seen gesturing towards the crowd, and he even asked them to go louder. Later, when he was making his way back into the pavilion, the crowd was seen booing the cricketer. At first, he didn't pay any attention, but later he moved back and gave a death stare to the audience.

For the unversed, a few days ago, Virat Kohli lost his calm at the Melbourne airport. He thought that his kids were being filmed, and thinking the same, he lashed out at a female journalist. He also added that no one can click on his kids' photos without his permission. While this might be Virat's side of a protective dad, it didn't go well with a portion of the Australian media, who started bashing the cricketer.
It was Australian reporter of Nine Sports, Tony Jones, who talked on the radio channel 3AW Melbourne and bashed Virat Kohli. He stated that Virat takes it offensive when the cameras are on him, despite knowing the fact that he is the star of cricket. He further called Virat a bully for lashing out at the female journalist at the airport.
