On the personal front, Virat had tied the knot with his ladylove, Anushka Sharma, in a hush-hush ceremony in 2017. On October 31, 2022, Virat Kohli took to his IG space and uploaded a Reel. In the clip, we can see every corner of Virat’s hotel room. From his working table and cupboard to his bed, we got a sneak peek of everything. But the video was not captured by Virat but by someone else. In the caption, Virat penned that he understands that his millions of fans are eager to know about his personal life, but the way someone recorded his personal room without his consent is clearly a breach of privacy. His strong note can be read as:
“I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I've always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it's made me feel very paranoid about my privacy. If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I'm NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people's privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment.”

While cricketer, David Warner wrote, “This is ridiculous, totally unacceptable. Was this @crownperth,” Arjun Kapoor penned, “Absolutely unethical and uncool.” Not only this! Popular comedian, Abhishek Upmanyu commented, “Hadd he ho gayi yeh toh. Sheeshe pe likh ke jana agli baar video banaane wale tera muh kala,” and Varun Dhawan wrote, “Horrible behaviour.”

When a shutterbug captured Anushka and Vamika at a cricket stadium, the photograph surfaced on the internet like wildfire. At that time, Virat made a humble request to the netizens through his Instagram stories and had penned:
"Hi guys, we realize that our daughter's images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and did not know that the camera was on us."
