Some of the B-town couples have made everyone regain the faith in love and marriage, and Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are one of them. Ever since December 11, 2017, Virushka has become synonymous to ‘relationship goals’, be it praising each other for their work, standing up for right and bashing the trollers. Bollywood-cricket jodi is just cuteness to another level. (Also Read: Virat Kohli And Anushka Sharma Celebrated First Anniversary By Picnicking In Perth With Dolphins)
Anushka Sharma’s latest film, Zero along with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, released on December 21, 2018. While it got mixed reviews from audience and critics mostly lukewarm, her husband Virat Kohli seemed to be bowled by his wifey’s performance. Sharing that he enjoyed the film immensely and he found Anushka’s part quite challenging, Virat tweeted, “Saw @Zero21Dec and loved the entertainment it brought. I enjoyed myself. Everyone played their parts well. Loved @AnushkaSharma performance because I felt it was a very challenging role and she was outstanding.”
As soon as Virat tweeted an all-praise post for Anushka, he faced the wrath of trolls, who went on to sympathize with him in the ‘husband duties’ aspect, which pressurised him in to lauding his wife's performance and termed him a liar. Some of the tweets could be read as, “Thank god you chose cricket over reviewing films coz you're pathetic at that”, “Did #Anushka praise Indian team's performance after the 2nd test? Praise Anushka, but why praise a crap movie!! This is #Bhakti”, “Ladki ka chakkar babu bhayya...ladki ka chakkar”. Check out the screenshots here:
In an interview with Bollywood Life, Anushka talked about how hard it was for her to prepare for the role, and had shared, "I understood the challenge that I was going to face as an actor while playing this role. That is what excited me towards the role. If I were able to pull it off, I would have accomplished something. So I wanted to do it the right way and represent this correctly. Anand Sir and Himanshu had already researched a lot with doctors (about this condition) when they came to me with the film and had sketched out my character accordingly. I understood their brief and went with their vision and met with the doctors."
In a chat session with Film Companion, Anushka revealed interesting details about her and Virat’s camaraderie and she had happily stated, “I am married to the greatest man in the world.” Speaking about their relationship, Anushka revealed, “We are both very awkward with the fame that we have we don’t embrace stardom and fame and that’s why, I think, we connect so much. We run away, sometimes, from these things. Sometimes, we find a need to be in our own cocoon. And that’s the reason why we are so self-sufficient." And further added, “And when I see self, I mean both of us because we don’t see each other as two different people. Him and me are male and female versions of each other.” (Also Read: Virat Kohli Says Wifey Anushka Is The Captain Off-Field, She Takes All The Right Decisions)
After India’s win against South Africa in the Jan-Feb 2018 tour, Virat Kohli credited his wife for keeping him motivated and was quoted as saying, “My wife has been keeping me motivated throughout, she deserves a lot of credit for this. She has been criticized a lot in the past, but she is one person who has kept me going throughout this tour and when times have been tough and I am really grateful for that.”
To their official wedding photographers, The Wedding Filmer, Virat had once said, “She guides me even when her body is not with me. Her words are. Her strength is. That is love. That is when you’ll know.” In a 2015 interview, Virat at length, had opened up about his and Anushka’s relationship and had shared, “Anushka acts as a big motivation for me. She is one person in my life who keeps me very calm. There are very few people in my life that I can sit down and listen to. She is one of them. I listen to her calmly about everything she says. She makes me understand if I make a mistake, if I am doing something wrong. She gives me that calm feeling. She gives me that assurance. And I know she will always support me, no matter what. That's a big thing for me.”
Virat further added, “So when I see her cheering for me at the ground, it obviously makes me feel special. It gives me more strength, makes me feel calmer, it's like an emotional support. Once you get that you don't need to think about anything else. Because once you are feeling the emotional support, you are feeling so confident that you can go out there and conquer. You know there is someone sitting out there to support you always. And Anushka is a very special part of my life. I love the fact that she comes and supports me when I play."
