The crowd kept chanting their names when team India reached the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for their felicitation. Virat Kohli, who played with Rohit Sharma for 15 years in many cricket matches in different formats shared an interesting insight. Speaking at the event, he said it was the first time he had seen Rohit Sharma so emotional, indicating to their hug after winning the finals in Barbados. He was quoted as saying:
"Rohit and I, we've been trying this for so long. We always wanted to win a World Cup. Bringing the trophy back to Wankhede is a very special feeling. We have been playing for the last 15 years and this is the first time, I've seen Rohit so emotional – he was crying, I was crying, a hug between both of us – I will never forget that day,"

When the team reached with the winning trophy at Wankhede, it was filled with crowds of fans cheering the team. The players also became excited with the grand welcome. They sang 'Vande Mataram' and danced to the tunes of local artists playing Marathi' dhol, led by Virat and Rohit. Their moves soon created a buzz online.
