Vivian Dsena won hearts with his stint on 'Bigg Boss 18'. However, the tag of 'laadla' stuck with him the entire journey, and the actor has finally addressed it.
Vivian Dsena might not have won the crown of Bigg Boss 18, but he won the hearts of many during his stint. However, despite his genuine performance on the show, the tag of laadla always stuck with him. Recently, the actor appeared on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast along with his wife, Nouran Aly. During the conversation, Vivian opened up about his loyalty towards Colors and how he never abused this favouritism tag.
Haarsh Limbachiyaa and Bharti Singh welcomed Vivian and Nouran on their podcast. During the segment, they discussed several topics, including how Bigg Boss is never scripted. Harsh revealed that many people didn't know about the legalities of the show and stated:
"A lot of people don’t know the legality. When you bring a show from abroad, there are certain laws around it. If you don’t follow those, there can be complications on an international level. Bigg Boss must be an IP worth 5000 to 10000 crores. It’s one of the biggest IPs in the world. No network will make you win a show just because they favour you."
Responding to Haarsh, Vivian Dsena stated how he was often seen in a particular way because of his tag of laadla. He added that it was the result of this preconceived notion that he was being favoured in the Bigg Boss 18 house. He shared that his amenities on the show were highlighted while the same or more were provided to other contestants, yet no one discussed them. He was quoted saying:
"Just because I was being called the ‘ladle’, people formed a perception around me. They assumed that I would get preference. Even though others also got coffee, my coffee was highlighted. Other contestants who were lactose intolerant or were on a vegan diet were provided with soy milk or almond milk specially. Still, only my special coffee got highlighted for the whole season. They used to get 2 to 3 bottles of coffee every week."
In the same conversation, Vivian shared how everyone told him that he could've used the tag for his own benefit, but he didn't because it was against his values. He shared that he was considered the 'Colors Ka Laadla' because he had worked with the network for years. Vivian revealed how, during the peak of his career, he was offered by several networks, yet he refused to leave since the channel 'made him'.
He further revealed that even now, if Colors makes him an offer, he would prefer them over others. However, his only fight with them was about being willing to try different concepts. He was quoted saying:
"At every peak I had, a lot of people came to me with offers. One network had come to me asking me to leave Colors. But that channel has made me, and if they offer me a show, I will not give preference to other channels. My only fight with them has been about bringing different concepts so that it doesn’t get boring. This is why I do limited work, but all of them are hits. I prefer being honest with my work and my audience."
