Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani are proud Gujaratis. While they take immense pride in their roots, they have made their children, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani aware of their culture. In fact, the Ambani family is making sure to incorporate all the Gujarati rituals in their youngest son, Anant Ambani's wedding with Radhika Merchant. Ahead of the grand wedding, the family hosted a Mameru ceremony. Let us tell you the significance of the ritual!
The Gujarati culture is filled with a lot of rituals and traditions, each holding a unique significance. The Mameru is one of the pre-wedding ceremonies that is hosted two days prior to the wedding day. It is the most cherished ceremony in a traditional Gujarati wedding, where the mama (maternal uncle) of the bride visits her with a lot of sweets and gifts.

Talking about the gifts, the mama gives the bride a saree, jewellery, ivory chooda, sweets and dry fruits. The gifts are beautifully wrapped in trousseau trays. The ceremony is also called mosalu in Gujarati. It is held at the bride and the groom's home, marking the beginning of the wedding.
For the bash, the bride, Radhika, picked an orange and pink-toned lehenga. She styled it with a matching choli and a dupatta. She accessorised her look with a maang teeka, a choker neckpiece and a maang teeka. Radhika dolled up herself with subtle glowing makeup and hair tied in a braid.

In January 2023, the Ambanis hosted the first Gujarati ceremony for their son, Anant and Radhika, which was called GolDhana. In Gujarati weddings, GolDhana rituals represent a sagai or engagement. The bride and her family come to the groom's house with sweets and gifts. Later, the couple exchanges engagement rings and seeks blessings from five married women from the bride and groom's families.
Well, we love the way Ambanis are getting their youngest son, Anant Ambani's wedding, following every Gujarati ritual.
