In a throwback interview, Revathi surprised her fans when she announced becoming a mother to a daughter after divorce via 'In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)'.
Asha Kelunni, popularly known by her stage name, Revathi, rose to prominence with her work in Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam cinema. She has been one of the most successful actresses from the South Indian Cinema, achieving unmatched love from her fans. However, Revathi's personal life was full of ups and downs. The actress got married to the love of her life, Suresh Chandra Menon, in 1986, but the couple's internal differences and conflicts led them to separate and later they got divorced. Although, they didn't have a child together, Revathi surprised everyone when she revealed the birth of her daughter after the divorce.
Revathi separated from her former husband, Suresh, after a mutual divorce. Among the couple's many differences, one was about their inability to conceive and have a child. Revathi wanted to become a mother, and after her separation, the actress used medical science advancements to fulfill her wish.
Since fans were worried about Revathi when she took a long break from work, the actress shared the good news about being a mother with the world. Revathi took to her social media handle and shared a new post where she announced about having a daughter, Mahee, who took her time and changed her life for the better. The actress shared a picture of herself on her 48th birthday and wrote:
"To add to all the happiness, just want to share the reason for my disappearance for a while, rather a couple of years. My daughter MAHEE, she has taken over my life totally and has changed it, filling it with beautiful moments. Want to share this with all who have been so supportive. Just for you all dear friends."
When Revathi announced her daughter to the world, there were speculations about her adopting the baby girl. However, after five years, the actress dismissed the rumours by clarifying she had opted for an IVF treatment. She gave an interview with a monthly magazine and revealed that she tried for adoption but didn't get an opportunity for it.
The actress felt IVF was like a gift from heaven for her, and she went through the process with the help of her parents. At the same time, Revathi shared how she has decided to tell her daughter, Mahee, about the truth of her birth when she will be able to understand it.
In a previous interview with Vanitha, Revathi shared that her life has become more comfortable after being a mother and it has been interesting to witness her daughter grow. In addition, the actress shared that her daughter began school and as a mom, she likes to do everything with her daughter who enjoys it. Moreover, her parents loved to look after her that has made things smooth for her.
