Once Sidharth Shukla opened up about his mother's financial struggle after his dad's death at an early age. He revealed how his mother raised three kids despite having poor finances.
Sidharth Shukla’s untimely demise on September 2, 2021, came as a shocker for the nation. Many of us re-read the headlines as it was an extremely painful news for our hearts to believe. He was 40 when he left the world due to cardiac arrest. Sidharth may had an image of a tough guy, but he would always melt in front of his maa.
From a very young age, Sidharth being the youngest child, was closest to his mother, Rita Shukla. More than a guardian, she had become his best friend. But their life had turned upside down when Sidharth’s father died at an early age. But Rita raised her three children, Sidharth and his elder sisters, by sacrificing many of her wishes. In an earlier interview with the Humans of Bombay, Sidharth had opened up about the same and said:
“When dad passed away 15 years ago, it felt like the umbrella over us had been taken away. But my mom was our rock–she never showed any signs of vulnerability. Despite our poor finances, she ran the house, looked after 3 kids and fulfilled all our demands! I know now that she must’ve had to sacrifice so much to give us what we wanted.”

In the same conversation, Sidharth recalled how he could not spend a minute without his mother. The actor said that he might look like a cold-hearted person to the world, but he wears his heart on his sleeves for his mother. Sidharth also added how his mother used to hold him in one hand while making rotis and would always stay around him in his growing-up years. In his words:
“People know me as a man with a rough exterior. But I’ll always melt for my mom. Right from the time I was born, she’s been the most important person in my life. I was the youngest of 3 kids and too small to play with my sisters, so I was always around mom. Back when I was a toddler, I’d cry if I had to go a second without her–so even while making rotis, she’d hold me in one hand & the roller in another! As I grew older, she became my best friend.”

Further, Sidharth had opened up more about his childhood. While most of the kids would hide things from their parents, Siddharth would share anything and everything with his dearest mom. Though Sidharth was a naughty kid, he would own up to his mistakes if his mother asked him. He had said:
“Every time I came back home after playing, we’d talk about everything under the sun–while other kids were hiding things from their parents, I wanted to tell her all about my life! She’s taught me so much too–I was a naughty kid who’d get away with trouble. But when mom told me to always be honest, I immediately owned up to my mistakes.”
It was Sidharth’s mom who first sent him to a modelling competition in Gladrags Manhunt and Mega model Contest (2004) so that he would develop a humble personality. But to Rita’s surprise, Sidharth came back home with the trophy of first runner-up. Later, he became the first Indian and Asian to win the World’s Best Model contest in Turkey. From venturing into television and movies to bagging the trophy of Bigg Boss 13, Sidharth's journey to success is quite inspiring.
We love the beautiful bond that late Sidharth Shukla had with his mother, Rita Shukla.
