According to some reports, Ratan Tata proposed an offer of Rs. 7,000 crore to Ramesh Chauhan in order to buy Bisleri International. After a series of negotiations and meetings that went on for two years, the deal was almost finalised in 2023 but eventually fell off. There were a couple of reasons behind Ramesh Chauhan's decision not to sell Besleri International to TCOL. However, out of all the factors, the biggest one was his daughter, Jayanti Chauhan's decision to take the mantle.

In a conversation with the Economic Times, the proud father, Ramesh Chauhan confirmed that he had transferred his responsibilities to the hands of his stunning daughter, Jayanti Chauhan. While Ramesh is still the Chairman of Bisleri International, Jayanti is the Vice Chairperson of the multi-billion company, Bisleri International. Apart from Ramesh and his daughter, Jayanti, the former's wife, Zainab Chauhan also holds a prominent position in the company. As per Bisleri's official website, Zainab is the Director of Bisleri International.

Bisleri is hands down the biggest name in the packaged water segment in India. The company, founded by Ramesh Chauhan in the 1970s, has been competing with a series of brands like Kinley, Aquafina, Kingfisher, Himalayan, Bailley, QUA, Patanjali, and many more. Despite so much competition in this sector, Bisleri continues to be synonymous with 'packaged water'. Back in 2022, in a conversation with PTI, Ramesh shared that he wanted a worthy heir of his brand because his daughter, Jayanti Chauhan had told him she wasn't interested in handling his business.

As a result, Ramesh Chauhan was looking for someone to take Bisleri to further heights, and in his opinion, no one was better than Ratan Tata to do it. However, what's interesting is that the negotiations between Ramesh Chauhan and Ratan Tata were active for almost two years before finally collapsing in 2023. To everyone's surprise, Jayanti Chauhan agreed to run Bisleri International in 2023. It was a massive moment for Ramesh, who always wanted his daughter to take over the family business.
