Recently, Prajakta Koli was confronted by a woman who blamed her for teaching young girls to marry late. The content creator-cum-actress responded with her trademark wit and straightforwardness.
Actress, Prajakta Koli, popularly known by her YouTube channel name, Mostly Sane, has never been one to shy away from sharing her thoughts on various topics. Be it about mental health, gender equality, body positivity, or societal stereotypes, Prajakta has always had strong opinions that inspire countless others. Recently, the Mismatched actress, shared her views on the right age for women to get married.
Prajakta Koli recently made an appearance at the Saahitya AajTak 2024 event by India Today in Delhi. During the Influencer se OTT Tak session, a woman from the audience asked Prajakta what the "right time" for a woman to marry was according to her. In response, Prajakta said:
"There's no right time; a woman can get married whenever she wants to."
However, this did not sit right with the woman, who not only disagreed with her but also blamed her for teaching young girls to marry late. According to the audience member, the content creator was not setting the "right benchmark" for girls as per her beliefs.
Notably, Prajakta Koli did not lose her cool in the moment. She calmly reiterated her views, stating that every woman could think for herself and had the right to make her own decisions. Still unsatisfied, the woman used her own daughter as an example. She responded to Prajakta by saying that many young women, such as her daughter, would rather marry later. However, this was often a major cause of parents' worries. As per a report in India Today, Prajakta then said:
"Har ladki ko jab mann ho tab shaadi karni chahye. Main bas ye kahugi. Chahein umar 31 ya 42, shaadi tab karo jab mann ho. Baaki aap apni beti se puch lena."
For the unversed, Prajakta and her long-time boyfriend, Vrishank Khanal, got engaged in Pennsylvania on September 17, 2024. However, their love story started nearly a decade ago — twelve years, to be specific. In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Prajakta revealed that she first met Vrishank via a mutual friend when she was 18 and he was 22. The couple then kept in touch via BlackBerry Messenger.
In the same conversation, Prajakta revealed that she and Vrishank were actually very different people. However, this helped them come together as a duo. In fact, as the couple grew older, they became even more different. Prajakta stated:
"We are nothing alike — the kind of people that we are, the kind of content that we watch, the kind of music that we listen to, the way we react to happy or tough situations, etc."
Prajakta further admitted that their relationship had never been easy. However, they never gave up on each other despite the tough times. That commitment is what brought them to this point. As per reports, the 31-year-old YouTuber and actress will tie the knot in 2025.
