In a recent interview, Yami Gautam opened up about her experience of facing a privacy breach when she was in her hometown in Himachal Pradesh.

In a recent interview with renowned entertainment journalist, Puja Talwar, Vicky Donor actress, Yami Gautam shared her story of a privacy breach when she was in her home town in Himachal Pradesh. Opening up about the same, Yami revealed that people used to come and meet her whenever she visited her hometown, but one day, a young teenager came to her farm and started recording a video without her consent. The actress admitted that the video was ‘bad’, and once he uploaded it, he got a lot of views and wasn’t ashamed of breaching her privacy. She said:
"Aaj kal koi aise le k video bana raha hoga. Some boy came on my farm, a very young boy, a teenager who must be 19-20, and requested my staff ‘can we take a picture’. I am very open, you know, welcoming people. It’s a small town and people wanna come and visit and talk. And, I am very happy to do that. I thought he is taking a picture but he was taking a video. A video of…it was so bad, and that person apparently got millions of views, he’s celebrating his vlog."
Further, in the same conversation, Yami Gautam revealed that as soon as the teenager posted that video on social media, many youngsters started coming to her farm. It was a dangerous situation for the actress, as people were not bothered to think about her privacy. All they wanted was a video of her and the place. It was a heartbreaking incident for the actress, and she admitted that there has to be a line, which people need to respect. Yami explained:
"It may seem I'm so happy mujhe comment mil gayi but that means that has encouraged that person to do it again with somebody. They (other people with their cameras) all came back at home with cameras and they are taking a tour of my home. I am like ‘what is happening? Where are we going?’ You making this so normal for next generation. Absolutely there has to be a line drawn and everything is not okay. This is not okay."

Yami Gautam tied the marital knot with the love of her life and famous director, Aditya Dhar on June 4, 2021. It was an intimate wedding in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, and only their respective families and relatives were in the presence. For the unversed, the couple fell in love with each other when they were working together in the film, URI: The Surgical Strike, as Aditya was the film's director and Yami was playing the female lead.
On the professional front, Yami Gautam will be next seen in the film, OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2.
