February 7, 2017, was the most special day for the most happening director-producer of Indian film fraternity, Karan Johar. This was the day when he welcomed his twins into his world via surrogacy. Taking the inspiration from his parents’ name, Karan named them Yash and Roohi.
And on February 7, 2018, his little ones turned one. Taking the social media platform to express his love for his kids, Karan posted a picture and captioned it with a wish, “I can’t thank the universe enough for giving my mother and me the most beautiful gift ever....Happy Birthday Roohi and Yash....you are a blessing to us.”
Karan’s team and production company, Dharma Productions too took it to their Instagram handle to wish Yash and Roohi. This is how Dharma family wished them, “One year ago, they brought an abundance of happiness with them! Happy first birthday, Roohi and Yash! With love, the Dharma family.” Sharing the first birthday plans of his twins, Karan earlier revealed in an interview that it will be an intimate one. He said, “It’s a small birthday party at home, with just kids their age. I want to keep it simple and intimate this year.”
But this doesn’t mean that Karan’s party will be minus his B-town friends. Apparently, the guest list for his tiny tots’ birthday party includes, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's son, Taimur Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor and Mira Kapoor's daughter, Misha Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor's son, Laksshya Kapoor, Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra’s daughter, Adira are among other kids who will grace the birthday bash. According to a statement in DNA, a source revealed, “Karan has already spoken to his friends and invited them and their tiny tots to the party at his home. So, there will be Taimur Ali Khan, Adira Chopra, Misha Kapoor, Laksshya Kapoor and some other B-Town kids.”

Karan is always in headlines for his commendable and trendiest fashion sense. Considering his fashion sense, he was asked if he ensures to dress his kids in trendiest clothes, he revealed, "I don't think so. Although that's the expectation when it comes to me." He further added that he wants them to have right values rather than right clothes, "Right now, I am focussing on them being good and being well brought up children. I am giving them the right value system rather than the right clothes. Fashion is really not on the priority list for me."
Imagining their first day at school, 45-year-old-actor stated, “I’ve already started imagining things like your first day at school, your first words and even your first acknowledgement of me. To tell you the truth, every single day I whisper ‘papa, papa, papa’ into your ears because I’m petrified that your first words will be in Malayalam (all our four nurses are from Kerala)!” He also shared in an earlier interview that their first birthday will be a great milestone for all of them, and said, “I am looking forward to celebrating their first birthday. It’s a proud moment that I am waiting for. I am sure they will not understand the meaning of that celebration because they’re too young for that, but I will celebrate the milestone in their lives and mine with aplomb.”
