Yuzvendra Chahal had taken to his Instagram story section to share an emotional note on chaos and kindness amid his and Dhanashree Verma's divorce matter.
Indian spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma's divorce murmurs began since the time the duo unfollowed each other on social media in 2024. Yuzi also deleted his wedding pictures with Dhanashree, and she was called a 'gold digger'. Yuzi and Dhanashree were then spotted at Bandra Court in Mumbai, and both their lawyers confirmed the divorce proceeding matter being under subjudice. Now, amid all this, Yuzi took to his Instagram story to share a sad note on choosing kindness amid chaos.
Yuzvendra has been among the most phenomenal spinners the Indian cricket team could ever have. He could win the hearts of his fans with his cricket skills on the pitch, but it seems, in reality, he is heartbroken. It was in December 2020 when Dhanashree and Yuzi got married, and there has been gossip about the couple staying separately for a while. Amid this, the spinner, on February 28, 2025, took to his Instagram stories to share a note on kindness. It read:
"It's chaos. Be kind- Michelle Mc Namara."
Earlier, in a statement to the Hindustan Times, lawyer Nitin K Gupta, who is representing Yuzi, shared that the couple mutually filed for divorce. The matter at present was with the Bandra Court. The lawyer did not dwell deep into the details but shared that the matter was under subjudice and could not be discussed publicly. Nitin's official statement read:
"Mr. Chahal reached a settlement for obtaining Divorce by Mutual Consent with Mrs. Verma. A Petition for Divorce by mutual consent was presented before the Hon’ble Family Court, Bandra. The matter is currently sub-judice. Further steps are being taken as per law in this regard. Mr Chahal and his family respectfully choose not to comment on the details circulating in media and request all to refrain from any kind of speculation."
Earlier, one of Dhanshree's family members, who did not want to be named, slammed rumours surrounding that the actress wanted Rs. 60 crore divorce alimony. Apart from refusing the claims, the family member also requested privacy and urged the media to be more responsible and verify their information. The statement read:
"We are extremely outraged by the unfounded rumors regarding the alimony figure. Let it be clear that no such amount has been sought, demanded, or even proposed. These rumors are completely false. Reckless reporting like this only causes unnecessary harm and confusion."
Once upon a time, Yuzi and Dhanashree were known as one of the sweetest pairs. She used to be spotted at all her husband's cricket matches. It was on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 11 sets, when Dhanashree shared she met Yuzi during the lockdown. During that time, cricket matches were not happening, so Yuzi wanted to utilise time and learn dance. Within two months of the dance training session, Yuzi proposed Dhanashree, which marked the beginning of a short love story.
