Popular Indian cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal's father, K.K. Chahal is admitted to the hospital after getting a positive COVID-19 report and his condition got serious. The news is confirmed by Yuzvendra's wife, Dhanashree Verma, who shared the details of her father-in-law's condition on one of her social media handles. The doting daughter-in-law requested her millions of fans to pray for her father-in-law's recovery from COVID-19.

On December 22, 2020, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma had delighted their fans when they had shared their wedding pictures on their respective Instagram handles. We could see Yuzvendra looking handsome in a beige-coloured sherwani with a red turban, and a matching red stole in the pictures. On the other hand, Dhanashree had donned a gorgeous red lehenga with maroon undertones. She had completed her look with a statement choker neckpiece, a mathapatti and a nath. The duo had captioned their wedding pictures as "22.12.20. We started at "Once upon a time" and found "Our happily ever after," coz' finally, #DhanaSaidYuz for infinity & beyond!"
On May 13, 2021, Dhanashree Verma took to her Instagram stories and shared the devastating news about her husband and cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal's parents. The doting wife revealed that her father-in-law is admitted to a hospital after his COVID-19 condition got severe, and her mother-in-law is in home quarantine at the moment. The terrible news broke the internet, and millions of fans dropped their prayers on the internet for Yuzvendra's parents. Her stories can be read as "And Now, my parents-in-law have tested positive with severe symptoms. My father-in-law is admitted & my mother-in-law is being treated at home. I was at the hospital, and I have witnessed the worst. I'm taking all the precautions. But… Guys, please stay at home and take proper care of your family."
In multiple stories, Dhanashree also revealed that she is taking all the necessary precautions while visiting the hospital and need everyone's support and prayer in this tough time. She also revealed that her mother and brother had also tested positive for COVID-19 a few weeks ago, but now they are doing well and have been tested negative. The choreographer added that she could not post new content on her social media platforms because of Coronavirus. Her note in the stories can be read as "April-May. It's been really tough and emotionally challenging for me. At first, my mother & brother tested positive. I was in the IPL bubble and felt extremely helpless but did monitor them from time to time. It's really difficult to stay away from your family. Fortunately, they've recovered. It's really difficult to dance or to create content. But I will try my best to resume.
