The court has waived the six-month cooling period in Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma's divorce case

According to the report by Bar and Bench, Justice Madhav Jamdar asked the family court to decide on their divorce petition by March 20, 2025. This was due to the Indian cricketer's responsibilities in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). For those who are not aware, Chahal became the most expensive spinner in the IPL 2025 auction after receiving a grand sum of Rs. 18 crores to join the Punjab Kings team.

The court considered the fact that they had been living separately for a long time and had also reached an agreement on the issue of alimony payment during the previous mediation. So, despite the cooling-off period, the court has referred to the Supreme Court's ruling in 2017 that if there is no dispute regarding the settlement between both parties, then this cooling-off period can be waived.
