Actress Zeenat Aman broke the silence on her alleged affair with veteran actor, Raj Kapoor.
Zeenat Aman is an Indian film actress who rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s. She is often credited with changing the image of Indian actresses in cinema. Zeenat Aman was often linked to many celebrities throughout her career. One such rumoured relationship of hers was with the late veteran actor, Raj Kapoor. People learned about the love between these two after reading Dev Anand's autobiography, Romancing With Life. After so many years, Zeenat Aman has broken her silence on this.
At the Ideas of India 2023 Summit, Zeenat Aman said that Dev Anand must have told some things about her and Raj Kapoor's relationship in his autobiography. But he was completely wrong in believing she had an affair with the film industry's icon, Raj Kapoor. Talking about the same, she said:
"With all due respect, at times while we are narrating an incident or an anecdote, we put some bits to make it interesting. I don't know what Dev sahab's perspective was but whatever was his perspective, it was completely wrong. Now, I will write about this in my book (autobiography). I admire Dev sahab, I respect him but this was not correct."

In the same interview, Zeenat Aman said that she met the late veteran actor, Raj Kapoor because he had signed her for Satyam Shivam Sundaram. Throwing light on the same, Zeenat continued:
"I would meet him as his about to be heroine. We never had any inter personal relationship ever, nor during that time, or before or after, never. He was passionate about his work. I was passionate about my work. Also, he never asked me, 'why you didn't wear white?'. Whenever I meet him, be it on a set or at a function, and you can see the old photographs as well, I have never worn white when I met him."
In his autobiography, Romancing with Life (2007), Dev Anand wrote that he had fallen in love with his co-actress, Zeenat Aman during the shooting of the 1971 film, Hare Rama Hare Krishna. But then, Raj Kapoor offered her the iconic movie, Satyam Shivam Sundaram and she came close to him.

Zeenat Aman's personal life has had its share of ups and downs, but she has always been known for her strength and resilience in the face of adversity. For the unversed, Zeenat tied the knot for the first time in 1978 with the already-married man, Sanjay Khan. But soon, he left her, and their wedding was annulled in 1979. Afterwards, she married Mazhar Khan in 1985 and welcomed two sons, Azaan Khan and Zahaan Khan. However, due to a lot of emotional turmoil, Zeenat decided to part ways with Mazhar just before his death in 1998.
