Zeenat Aman penned details about her 'rough start' with Feroze Khan and how she was cast in the film, 'Qurbani'. However, she also reminisces about the actor's 'rizz'.
Veteran actress, Zeenat Aman needs no introduction. She was one of the iconic actresses of her generation. From starring in blockbuster films, including Satyam Shivam Sundaram: Love Sublime, Don, Yaadon Ki Baarat, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, and others, to becoming the first Indian to win the Miss Asia Pacific pageant at the mere age of 19 in the year 1970, Zeenat's beauty, acting skills and persona needed no explanation. Recently, she joined the social media platform Instagram, wherein she keeps sharing unknown anecdotes from her life.
Taking to her IG handle, on January 4, 2024, Zeenat Aman shared a sepia picture with Feroze Khan. The picture was from their younger times, and they looked extremely charismatic. While Feroze opted for an all-black look, Zeenat stunned in a white top with a plunging neckline and denim pants. Sharing the picture, she penned a long note and discussed her friendly relationship with him. Zeenat also reminisced about the actor's 'rizz' and wrote:
"I read somewhere that Oxford’s word for the year 2023 is 'rizz' - short for ‘charisma’. Well, if I’ve ever known anybody to have rizz, it was Feroz Khan."

On the same note, Zeenat talked about her 'rough start' with Feroze and also revealed how she joined the star cast of the highest-grossing Hindi film of 1988, Qurbani, which was produced by him. She penned details about the offer Feroze had once given her when she was at the peak of her career. However, she had rejected it as it was a side role. Thus, the next time Khan pitched for the film, Qurbani, he directly offered her the lead role. This is how she was cast in the film. Zeenat continued:
"Feroz and I had a rocky start. It was the 70s, my star was on the rise, and he called me on the telephone to offer me a role in his upcoming production. It was a secondary part, and so I politely refused the offer. Feroz was incensed and let out a stream of expletives while I held the receiver away from my ear! Many months later, he called again. This time he started his pitch by saying - 'it’s the lead role so don’t reject it'. And that’s how I joined the cast of Qurbani."
Further, Zeenat explained that once she was late at the shoot of her film, Qurbani. Zeenat shared that it happened only because she went to a late-night party despite having an early morning shoot schedule. Thus, she could reach the sets an hour late, and before she was allowed to explain herself, the film's producer, Feroze revealed that he would cut down her pay. Even after that, Zeenat complimented Feroze for being a talented actor-director, and concluded:
"I often discuss set etiquette in my captions, so I’d be amiss to neglect Feroz’s influence on me in this regard. I was quite a diligent worker, but on one occasion my youth got the better of me. Though we had an early call time the next day, I agreed to go out to a party. It was a fantastic night of dance and drink, and unsurprisingly I landed up one hour late to set. Feroz was glowering behind his camera, and before I could offer him my meagre excuse, he cut me down to size. 'Begum, you’re late and you’re going to pay for the delay.' No argument, no scolding, but you can be sure that he docked my pay to pay the crew for that one hour delay! Feroz was suave, charming and polished. He was a talented actor-director, and Qurbani remains one of my favourite projects to date. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this anecdote and I hope 2024 is off to a roaring start for you!"

Coming to Zeenat's personal life was certainly not a bed of roses like her professional life. Her love life was so disastrous that it also impacted her acting career. For the unversed, Zeenat initially tied the knot for the first time in 1978 with the already-married man, Sanjay Khan. Soon, their wedding was annulled the next year as Sanjay left her. Moreover, if reports are to be believed, Sanjay once had beaten her in such a way that Zeenat's eye was permanently damaged. Afterwards, she married Mazhar Khan in 1985 and welcomed two sons, Azaan and Zahaan. However, in her second marriage too, she had to deal with a lot of emotional and physical turmoil. Finally, in 1988, she decided to part ways with him just before his death.
