One of the most essential parts of a Punjabi bride’s ensemble, chooda is something that gets every to-be married girl highly excited. It is a set of red and white bangles that is given to the bride-to-be by her maternal uncle. As per the traditions, the bride has to wear the chooda for at least 40 days after her wedding. But in most of the cases, the brides love it so much that they end up wearing it for an entire year.

While she dressed up as a true blue south Indian bride, she beautifully mixed up two traditions by donning an exquisite chooda. It was a small set of plain red and white bangles which complemented her heavy outfit pretty well.
In yet another beautiful tale of “Bollywood meets Cricket”, actress Geeta Basra married Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh on October 29, 2015. The two got married as per Punjabi rituals and each function of their wedding celebration was absolutely a visual treat.
The pretty Punjabi bride, Geeta wore a beautiful chooda with a designer twist. She paired up plain red bangles with glittery white ones, and completed her chooda set with three broad bangles that had an intricate design on them.
The dimpled beauty, Preity Zinta surprised everyone as she tied the knot with Los Angeles-based businessman, Gene Goodenough in a secret ceremony in 2016. The bubbly actress adorned a simple chooda with a few plain red bangles teamed up with four bangles studded with white crystals. The actress wore it for full three months. Beauty queen Dia Mirza married her long-time beau Sahil Sangha in October 2014, in Delhi. Dia’s father was a German, while her mother is a Bengali-Hindu. But, her parents separated when she was just four and later, her mother married a Hyderabadi-Muslim. Adding more cultural diversity to her life, she married Sahil, who is a Sikh by religion. Kashish from the hit television show Kahiin To Hoga, i.e., Aamna Sharif tied the knot with distributor-producer Amit Kapoor on December 27, 2013. This inter-faith wedding saw a beautiful mix of traditions, one of which was the chooda worn by the gorgeous bride. Telly world’s most fashionable couple, Vinny Arora and Dheeraj Dhoopar had a big fat Punjabi wedding on November 16, 2016. The couple’s chic outfits obviously caught everybody’s attention, but for us, it was Vinny’s oh-so-elegant chooda set that won the fashion game. She kept it simple by combining a few red bangles with just four broad white bangles on both the ends. The white bangles also had red dots on them.
