Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are one of the most-loved couples in Bollywood. The duo has been a match made in heaven from the very beginning, and their amazing bonding simply sheds relationship goals. For the unversed, the duo had tied the knot back in 2007 in a lavish Mangalorean-style wedding. Abhishek and Aishwarya are blessed with their daughter, Aaradhya, who has grown up to be the perfect epitome of her parents. One look at the young girl, and people are left impressed over the values and manners that she has been inculcated with.
In a recent podcast interview with Raj Shamani, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about how deeply he values and respects his surname of ‘Bachchan’. He revealed that he considers his surname sacred to his very existence, as it has made him what he is worth today. Reflecting his immense respect and dignity for the same, Abhishek mentioned:
“My surname is sacred to me. I am whatever I am today because of my surname, which was given to me by my grandfather, and my father did a fantastic job of furthering that name, and the dignity associated with it."

In the same interview, Abhishek highlighted how after him, it is similarly his daughter who has been trying to understand the weight and legacy of their surname. Crediting it wholeheartedly to his wifey, Aishwarya, Abhishek mentioned that his ladylove has already taught their daughter to be respectful of their surname, and told her about the great legacy her grandfather and great grandfather have carried over the ages. In his words:
“I see my wife teach that to my daughter. We don’t want to put pressure on her, but she must be respectful of what her father, her dada ji, her pardada ji have done and achieved, and she must respect that, and never do anything to deplete that.”
In the same podcast, Abhishek Bachchan was asked about his stance on living under the same roof with his parents, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. The actor revealed that despite being mature and independent adults, both his parents in their age need care and highlighted that since our parents took care of us in childhood, we should too, reciprocate the same in their old age.

In one of his earlier interviews, Abhishek had recalled his parent’s reaction to seeing his debut film, Refugee that got released in the year 2000. He mentioned how his parents were totally emotional seeing the film. Moreover, he emphasised that as compared to his mother, his father remained silent but was happy for him.
