The year 2020 has turned into a scary dream, which doesn't seem to be ending soon. The entire world is fighting with the global health crisis, but no one knows when all this will be over. In December 2019, a new infectious respiratory disease had emerged in Wuhan, Hubei province, China and was named by the World Health Organization as COVID-19. Soon, the coronavirus had spread in the entire world and the lockdown was announced to curb its reach. However, the COVID-19 positive cases are increasing as the government has given relaxations on the lockdown. A couple of weeks ago, Bollywood actor, Aftab Shivdasani was tested COVID-19 positive. On September 11, 2020, he had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared the news with his followers. He had posted a statement, which could be read as "Hello everyone, hope you all are fit and fine and are taking care of yourselves. Recently, I started showing minor symptoms of dry cough and a mild fever and I got myself tested for COVID-19. Unfortunately, the result came out positve and under the medical supervision of doctors and authorities, I have been advised to home quarantine."

Recently, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Aftab opened up on how he had gotten tested positive for COVID-19. He shared that he was not prepared for this and was looking forward to be with his family. His shoot for Poison 2 was over and he was making all the preparations to fly back to London. He further added that it took him some time to accept the reality, "Initially when I got the result I was shocked. For the first few minutes I was disoriented because obviously I didn’t know how to react. There were a thousand thoughts in my head. My entire schedule was going to go for a toss. We hear, speak and read about but until it happens to you it’s still news. There are so many theories going around Covid about how fast it’s spreading, the mortality rate, the medication… The fact that the whole world is unclear about this is a little bit worrying. Aftab also revealed that he cannot wait to meet his little princess. The actor stated that he is a fighter, and also opened up on his work plan, "I’m a fighter and I’ll always be one. I’m reading scripts and there are two films, a thriller and a horror that I’m in talks for. We’ll start shooting after a month. Before that I’m planning to visit my family and waiting for the doctor to give me a go ahead. Can’t wait to see my daughter."
On September 29, 2020, Aftab took to his Instagram handle and shared with his followers that he has finally recovered from the Coronavirus. He wrote, "Hi everyone, I am very happy and relieved to be sharing with all of you that I did my COVID test again and by the grace of God, the reports came negative. Thank you for all your support and good wishes. Please know that this illness is very treatable and less than 20% cases are severe and need hospitalisation."

For those who don't know, on August 2, 2020, Aftab Shivdasani and his wife, Nin Dusanj had given a sweet surprise to their fans when they had shared their baby's arrival announcement. The actor had taken to his Instagram handle and had announced the news of their new journey as parents. He had posted an adorable picture of his baby girl's feet and had written, "A little bit of Heaven has been sent to Earth', with God's blessings @nin_dusanj and I are happy to announce the birth of our daughter.. we are proud parents and a family of three now."
