Popular Bollywood actress, Sonakshi Sinha is all set to get married to her longtime boyfriend-cum-actor, Zaheer Iqbal, on June 23, 2024. According to various media reports, the couple, who has allegedly been dating since 2020, will tie the knot in the presence of their family and friends at a popular SoBo venue. Ahead of their wedding, reports surfaced in the media alleging that the bride-to-be has some rift with her family members, especially her father, Shatrughan Sinha.
However, Sonakshi Sinha's latest rendezvous with her father, Shatrughan Sinha has seemingly quashed such baseless rumours. In several paparazzi videos, the bride-to-be, dressed in an all-white outfit, was seen entering a building. After a while, her husband-to-be, Zaheer also followed her. In the same video, the veteran actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha, was seen standing with a few other people, who were shaking hands with him.

Ahead of his daughter's wedding, Shatrughan Sinha was seen happily posing with Pahlaj Nihalani and others at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The picture was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by film critic and author, Bharathi S Pradhan on June 20, 2024. Posting the picture, Bharathi captioned her post as:
"With father of the bride @ShatruganSinha and Sonakshi's 'Pahlaj Uncle' @NihalaniPahlaj a couple of hours ago at #Chambers @TajLandsEnd. Also in the pic, host #JitenDoshi & Dr Manish. It's celebration time in the Sinha parivar!"
After Sonakshi Sinha's wedding reports surfaced in the media, rumours went viral claiming that her father wouldn't attend her wedding. However, recently, while speaking with Zoom, Shatrughan Sinha has clarified the speculations. He said that he is proud of his daughter and would definitely be at the wedding to bless the couple. In his words:
"Tell me, whose life is it anyway? It's just the life of my only daughter, Sonakshi, whom I am very proud of and immensely fond of. She calls me the pillar of her strength. I will be there at the wedding, certainly. Why shouldn't I and why won't I? The very fact that I have still been in Mumbai conveys that I am here not only as her pillar of strength but as her real kavach (armour) as well. Sonakshi and Zaheer have to live life together. They look very nice together. I would like to caution them with my signature dialogue: Khamosh, it's none of your business. Mind only your business."

These baseless rumours had spread like wildfire because, in one of his interviews earlier, the bride-to-be's dad said that he, too, was waiting for Sonakshi's wedding confirmation. The actress’ father was interviewed by Times Now, and during the conversation, Shatrughan Sinha said that he and his wife have been waiting for their daughter to break the news of her marriage to them. He further added that he knows just as much as the media knew about her wedding. Talking more on this, Shatrughan Sinha said:
“Main bhi utna hi jaanta ho jitna main media maine padha hai. If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. I would like to say that whenever my daughter gets married, I would like to be dancing right in front of the baaraat. I am being asked by people close to me why I am not aware of this, and the media is aware of it. All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain. We are waiting to be informed.”
