Agastya Nanda is one of the most popular next-generation actors in Bollywood. Grandson of illustrated actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, the young lad made his debut in December 2023 with Zoya Akhtar’s teen drama, The Archies. Unfortunately, despite the hard work and efforts put in for the film, it wasn’t able to leave a mark at the box office, and especially the debutant actors of the movie faced severe backlash from netizens. For the unversed, apart from Agastya, The Archies also featured the launch of two other star kids, Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor, along with a few other debutants.
In a conversation with Anupama Chopra, Agastya Nanda talked about his earlier belief about the competitive film world being highly welcoming, as he remarked about the unexpected hate which came his way after his film debut with The Archies. The 23-year-old actor mentioned how he thought that doing a film would not just be rewarding but would also lead him to be showered with a lot of love from the audience. Citing how it was the complete opposite for him, Agastya said:
“I thought that everyone would give me hugs and kisses and love me but I didn’t know that there was this hate thing that happens. I didn’t know that people didn’t like me. I thought it was so easy. Do a film, people love you, become a star. I had a very rosy picture, but first film reviews came out and I was like boss no, its not like that. Its not like that at all.”

Taking to the comment section of the post, several internet users posted their reactions to Agastya’s interview. Well, a strong segment of them mocked the young actor for pretending to be naive about his poor performance in the film. Some others even taunted Agastya for learning something from his uncle, Abhishek Bachchan, who couldn't be that successful despite being a star kid. Yet some more netizens remarked that Agastya should learn to act first before being a part of interviews.
