Shweta Bachchan Is Shocked As Son, Agastya Shares His Views On Toxicity And Chivalry, Netizens React

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's daughter, Shweta Bachchan is blessed with two kids, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda. While Shweta stayed away from the acting world, her son, Agastya, has stepped into Bollywood. The star kid made his acting debut with the film, The Archies. On the personal front, Agastya is rumoured to be dating Shah Rukh Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan.

Agastya Nanda and Navya Naveli discuss toxic masculinity

Earlier, Agastya Nanda appeared on one of the episodes of his sister, Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast, What The Hell Navya!, as he joined with their mother, Shweta Bachchan, and grandmother, Jaya Bachchan. Discussing the concept of toxic masculinity, Navya mentioned that her brother is more sensitive than her, and he isn’t afraid to cry. She then asked Agastya:

“Especially after feminism, and women feeling more empowered now, a lot of things they want to do independently. For example, today, if you take a girl out on a date, and you offer to pay, some people get offended by that. Because women feel that they are equal.”

Agastya Nanda mentions the difference between being chivalrous and toxic

To this, Agastya mentioned that there’s a difference between being chivalrous and toxic and that the intent behind any action is important. He added that if a man shows politeness and kindness to women, they can never go wrong. He was heard saying:

“There’s a difference between being chivalrous and toxic. As long as you are doing it in a polite way and do not show 'I'm the man', you can't go wrong, that is my opinion.”

Agastya Nanda mentions a man should show kindness rather than superiority

Further, Navya asked if he had ever faced a situation when a woman rejected his chivalrous act as she preferred to do it herself. Agastya cited an example and said that a man should hold a door open for a woman out of kindness rather than showing her a sense of superiority. He added:

“If you are opening the door, not to be like 'I'm the one who'll open the door', instead you're doing it because I want to help you. Then it's never gonna come across the wrong way. If you are going to say, ‘I would love to pay for this meal’, it’s seen as something kind, not like 'Ohh I'm ‘the provider, so I'll pay’. It’s all about the intent.”
