South Indian superstar, Nagarjuna's life took a significant turn when he entered into an arranged marriage with film producer Dr D. Ramanaidu's daughter, Lakshmi Daggubati, in 1984 . After a few years of their marriage, the couple was blessed with a son, Naga Chaitanya. However, the happiness was short-lived as the couple faced challenges that led to their divorce in 1990, a period of emotional upheaval for Nagarjuna.
Lakshmi is the daughter of the late Ramanaidu, who was one of South India's wealthiest men with a business empire that spanned from film production to real estate and much more. She is also Rana Duggabati's aunt and the sister of yesteryear Telugu superstar, Venkatesh. Naga Chaitanya is much closer to his dad than to his mother, as he chose to stay with him after his parents split. Now that Naga Chaitanya is all set to marry Sobhita, some photos of his parents' wedding have surfaced online.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala are all set to tie the knot on December 4, 2024, and ahead of that, his dad, Nagarjuna and mother, Lakshmi's wedding pictures are going viral. In a subreddit thread, an OP shared a photo of Nararjuna decked in a white-hued kurta and veshti for his wedding day. On the other hand, Lakshmi looked ethereal in a white-hued silk saree.
The duo looked happiest as they held hands and looked into each other's eyes. In another picture, the duo looked awkwardly toward the camera. The photo seemed to be from their wedding reception as Nagarjuna was decked in a three-piece suit, and Lakshmi opted for a saree.
According to multiple media reports, it is stated that Naga Chaitanya is closer to his father, Nagarjuna, and his stepmother, Amala Akkineni. After her divorce from Nagarjuna, Lakshmi Daggubati tied the knot with Sarath Vijayaraghavan, who is a corporate executive of Sundaram Motors. Channelising her interest in business, Lakshmi started her own company, Lakshmi Interiors. She settled in America with her husband but didn’t leave her son, Naga Chaitanya.

Nagarjuna and Lakshmi made sure that their son, Naga Chaitanya, was not affected by their separation. However, several rumours were rife on the internet that Chay was unhappy with his mother's second marriage and decided to maintain his distance from her. However, Naga Chaitanya quashed these rumours and reportedly mentioned that he lives in Hyderabad for his work. He also added that it has nothing to do with his mother as he often visits the latter in America and goes on vacation to other places.
