Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has gone through a lot of trolling back in the days when no one knew much about it. The gorgeous actress, who is hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world, received a massive backlash from people and media after she embraced motherhood and flaunted her postpartum weight gain. She was called 'overweight Aish' by the people, without understanding the fact that she had delivered a baby and nursing her.
If Kareena Kapoor Khan normalised flaunting baby bump in India, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan tried to desensitise the idea of postpartum weight gain. Aishwarya didn't run to the gym to lose her extra kilos, in fact, she took her own sweet time to get back in shape. While it affected her, she kept calm and did her work and attended events flaunting her body.

She called it 'a choice' she made. The former Miss World also added that if she wanted, she could have stayed away from the media until she went back to her original size.
Aishwarya gave birth to her first child in 2011. After which, she was papped attending events and flaunting her postpartum weight gain. While the internet and media were hell-bent to criticised her, it was Abhishek Bachchan, who had defended her. A year later, Abhishek opened up about how insensitive people have been towards Aishwarya. He called her a public figure but also a woman and a mother. He was quoted as saying:
"Yes, she's a public figure but people forget she's also a woman and now a mother, and there's a line that's not to be crossed."
