After 13 years, Bollywood's power couple, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's wedding is still considered a fairytale affair. We all remember sitting in front of our television screens during those times and hoping to get a glimpse of the bride and the groom. Their wedding became the 'wedding of the decade' without social media and hashtags. And we all still remember Aishwarya's glow in her traditional Kanjeevaram saree and Abhishek, who was looking like a prince on a white horse.
It was on April 20, 2007, when Aishwarya and Abhishek had exchanged the wedding vows and had left the entire nation starry-eyed. Every time, we get a glimpse of the duo together, our heart rushes a beat and we crave for love like 'Abhi-Aish'. The duo had entered the parenthood league in the year 2011 as they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, whom they have named, Aaradhya Bachchan.
Coming back to Aishwarya and Abhishek's wedding, their wedding was one of the biggest weddings in India. And Aishwarya's look was indeed one of the most expensive wedding looks in India. For those who don't know, Aishwarya had opted for a beautiful golden Kanjeevaram saree and her traditional jewellery had added more charm to her look. Before telling you the price of the beautiful saree, let us tell you the designer behind the masterpiece. The gorgeous ensemble was made by fashion designer, Neeta Lulla, and the saree had a beautiful gold border with a lot of expensive crystals.
The saree had real gold-thread work and had a lot of crystals on it. And the price of the saree was Rs.75 Lakh, and it was the most expensive sarees ever.
On the other hand, Abhishek had complemented Aishwarya in a white sherwani with real-gold work on it. However, it was the choice of jewellery that had made his look complete and on point.

Last year, designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla had released an unseen wedding picture of the family and the outfit they had designed for the Bachchans. The official IG page of the designer duo had posted the picture, and had narrated the thought behind the design,
"2007: A wedding beyond a fairy-tale! Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and the Bachchans go a long way. Jaya Bachchan embraced their work ever since the opening of their first boutique, Mata Hari. She has always been an avid supporter of their creative visions and ‘The Boys’ as she affectionately calls them, have known Abhishek and Shweta since they were kids. So designing for Abhishek’s wedding with Aishwarya was a highly emotional and creatively satisfying experience for the duo. In the picture above, they dressed the groom in a blue silver brocade short Sherwani adorned with gota resham, stones and pearls. For Aishwarya, they created an embroidered pastel resham ghagra set that shone with sequins and stones and a dupatta that was just as rich in details. The wedding was an epitome of glamour and grace and the memory of it remains fresh in our hearts."
In a 2016 interview of Abhishek and Aishwarya with the Vogue magazine, the couple had talked about their perfect married life. However, it was Abhishek's confession on planning a disastrous date night that became the highlight. Abhishek had revealed that he had tried to plan a romantic candlelight dinner for his wife, Aishwarya, but it was an epic fail. The actor had shared,
"So this is for men everywhere—don't believe that bit about a candlelight dinner on the beach being the most romantic thing in the world. I tried that for our anniversary [in 2009] in the Maldives, and it was a disaster."
Abhishek had further shared what had gone wrong in his romantic date night dinner in the Maldives. The actor had stated,
"First of all, the wind keeps putting the candle out. Second, there's sand in your food so it tastes like crap. I'm here to tell you guys, just don't do it. I think the most romantic, coolest thing about my wife is that I can spend hours just shooting the breeze with her. We can talk all sorts of rubbish and have an in-depth conversation for hours. We've actually spent entire nights just talking. I think that's the most romantic thing you can do for your wife, really—to just be there for her, make yourself available, share and listen."
Well, we still love Aishwarya's wedding look! What about you?
