Moving forth in the interview, the host asked the diva to spill beans about her childhood. Aishwarya confessed that she would get some extra attention from people around her over these. In her words:
“Bachpan mein kya hota hai ki shayad mere aankh ke rang ke wajah se, baal brown hai, whatever, so, attention milta tha upar upar se milte they, you know.”
In the next segment of the interview, Aishwarya was asked about how she bagged her first modelling assignment in Mumbai. The diva credited her professor in college, who was a photo journalist by profession, who casually asked her to take part in a fashion feature. Therefore, she started off with her first feature shoot, which turned out to be great. Subsequently, Aishwarya mentioned making a name for herself with her successive performances. She added:
“College mein meri professors thi aur woh magazines mein photo journalism karti thi. Toh unhone mujhse bas ek bar aise hi request kiya ki ek fashion feature hai, bas karlo. Kyunki unka deadline tha. Main student thi unke class mein, wo English ki professor thi. Jo bhi main kabhi kabhi karti thi, they were very good assignments. Toh naam acchi ho gayi meri.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an enigmatic name in the film industry, and her skills require no proof. Previously, in one of her interviews with Filmfare, the actress had talked about the reason as to which she decided to step back from the role of ‘Tina’ in the hit film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Talking about her apprehensions of getting lynched if she would’ve done the film, Aishwarya had said:
“I'm in a catch-22 situation, really. Though I'm a newcomer, I'm compared with all the senior actresses. If I'd done the film, it would have been tittered that, 'Look, Aishwarya Rai is back to doing what she did in her modelling days—leaving her hair straight, wearing minis, and pouting glamorously into the camera.' Ultimately, the hero goes back to the more real person. I know if I'd done Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, I would have been lynched.”
