Aishwarya Rai has been hailed as the most gorgeous face in the world ever since she won Miss World Crown in 1994. Soon after her win, she entered Bollywood and won hearts. However, it was in the late '90s that her personal life came into the public spotlight after her ugly fallout with then-boyfriend Salman Khan. Things took an ugly turn after Vivek Oberoi stepped in and spoke against the 'bhai' of Bollywood, Salman Khan, in his infamous press conference.
For the unversed, it was in 2001, when Vivek Oberoi hosted a press conference and claimed how Salman Khan would kept calling him and threatening him and Aishwarya. He also stated that the language Salman is using is not pleasant. This became headlines and further sparked the murmurs of Salman hitting Aishwarya when they were together.

After which, people often claim that Aishwarya left Vivek as she wasn't happy. But it seems like those were mere speculations as Aishwarya took Vivek to Cannes Film Festival right after all the ugly fight between him and Salman. We stumbled upon a video, which is said to be from 2003. Aishwarya was present with her mother, Brinda Rai, and Vivek accompanied them.
However, Vivek being the gentleman stood behind and let Aishwarya had her moment in the International media. When Aishwarya called him and her mother, they came forward and posed together. It is also worth mentioning Aishwarya radiated the glow in an off-shoulder sleeveless gown, and subtle makeup.

Earelir, we stumbled upon an old clip of Vivek Oberoi from Koffee With Karan season 1 (2005). In the video, the host of the show, Karan, asked Vivek if he was seeing Aishwarya. To this, the actor happily gave out a big 'yes'. Karan cross-questioned Vivek and asked why Aishwarya never admitted it. This left Vivek visibly upset, and he added that maybe he never asked her. Vivek was quoted as saying:
"I don't think you asked her on the show. Did you ask her on the show?"
Further in the video, Karan asked Vivek about his famous press conference against Salman Khan and how the media bashed him. To this, Vivek said that it had good repercussions on his life. He added that he faced a lot of media bashing, and the entire industry turned against him. Vivek was quoted as saying:
"I didn't had anything against Salman Khan. In fact, I liked the guy. I thought he was quite interesting when I met him before. But yeah in terms of the way he behaved and within the framework of my personal life at that time, trying to protect the lady in my life. I did what I thought was right."

On Farah Khan's show in 2009, Vivek talked about his press conference in early 2000, where he levied some serious allegations on Salman Khan. Recalling the moment, Vivek confessed that his inner voice told him that it might not be right and that he should directly talk to Salman but there was a lot of influence. He said:
"My inner voice told me to not do this and to go have a conversation man-to-man. But when you have too many people advising you, you suppress your own thoughts."
