Ajaysinhji Jadeja, better known as Ajay Jadeja, is a former Indian cricketer who played a crucial role in winning the 1995 Asia Cup. Currently, Ajay Jadeja is mentoring the Afghanistan cricket team, which has shown a lot of potential in recent years. For the uninitiated, the BCCI banned him for five years due to his alleged involvement in match-fixing in the 2000s. Although a Delhi Court lifted the ban in January 2003, Ajay never played cricket again.
However, he coached the Delhi cricket team and even appeared in a few Bollywood movies. Apart from this, he continued being involved in cricket as a cricket pundit on a series of cricket-related shows that brought him back into the limelight. The ex-cricketer broke into the news headlines on the auspicious festival of Vijayadashami, as he was named the new heir to the Jamnagar throne.

On October 12, 2024, the current Maharaja Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, Shatrusalyasinhji Digvijaysinhji Jadeja released an official statement in which he made a huge announcement related to the next heir of Jamnagar. The Jam Saheb revealed that the ex-cricketer has agreed to become the next heir of Gujarat's princely state, Jamnagar. Calling his decision to become the next heir 'a blessing', Shatrusalyasinhji Digvijaysinhji Jadeja admitted that he's delighted to share this news with everyone. An excerpt from his official statement can be read as:
"I am happy that Ajay Jadeja will be the new Jam Saheb of Nawanagar. I feel that this will be a blessing for the people of Jamnagar."
For the uninitiated, Ajay Jadeja was born on February 1, 1971, to his parents, Daulatsinh Jadeja and Gyanba Jadeja, who belong to the royal family of Nawanagar. His father was a three-time member of the Parliament of the Jamnagar constituency. Ajay's relatives include K. S. Ranjitsinhji, after whom India's famous domestic first-class cricket championship, Ranji Trophy, is named.

Not only this, Ajay Jadeja's other famous family member is K. S. Duleepsinhji, after whom the Duleep Trophy is named. Talking about his personal life, Ajay Jadeja is married to Aditi Jaitly, daughter of renowned Indian politician and activist, Jaya Jaitley. The couple is blessed with two kids, Aiman Jadeja and Ameera Jadeja.
