Veteran actor Deb Mukherjee, the father of filmmaker, Ayan Mukerji, passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving the Bollywood industry in mourning. On the day of his demise, his home was visited by numerous A-list celebrities who came to pay their last respects. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who share a close bond with Ayan, even cut short their Alibaug trip to support their friend during this difficult time. Recently, the couple was spotted once again, this time accompanying Akash Ambani, as they visited Ayan Mukerji at his residence to offer their condolences.
Akash Ambani, the eldest son of business tycoons, Mukesh and Nita Ambani, recently visited Ayan Mukerji's residence to offer his condolences and support to the grieving filmmaker. He was accompanied by Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who have been standing by their close friend during this difficult time.
On March 26, 2025, the trio was seen leaving Alia and Ranbir’s residence, Vastu, in a luxury car. They later arrived at Ayan’s home, where they spent time comforting him and offering their support. Over the past few days, Ayan’s close friends and colleagues from the industry have been rallying around him as he copes with the loss of his father.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt share a deep bond with Ayan Mukerji, dating back to their Brahmastra days. So when the tragic news of Deb Mukherjee’s passing broke on March 14, 2025, the couple reportedly cut short Alia’s birthday week getaway in Alibaug and returned to Mumbai to support their close friend during this difficult time.
Deb Mukherjee, a highly respected figure in the industry, was known for his warm and jovial nature. The 83-year-old veteran was often seen in high spirits whenever he was spotted in public. He passed away on March 14, 2025, due to age-related complications. Several Bollywood celebrities have since visited the filmmaker’s residence to pay their respects to the late actor, including Kajol and her mother, Tanuja, Jaya Bachchan, Karan Johar, Vicky Kaushal, Anu Malik and Jackie Shroff. Ranbir even became a pallbearer and carried the late actor's body at his last rites.
