India won the T-20 World Cup in 2007, under the captainship of MS Dhoni, and the recent win left every Indian's chest swelling with pride. Amidst it, we stumbled upon a video, wherein Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's son, Akash Ambani, revealed that he wished India won the 'T20 World Cup'.

To which, he said:

Well, it wasn't just Akash Ambani's dream; it was many Indians' wish, too, and it turned true on June 29, 2024. The final match was between India and South Africa, and there were many sea-saw moments that left the fans' jaws clenched and fingers crossed. Under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, India won the toss and opted to bat first.

One of them was Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who announced their retirement from the T20 World Cup. Under Rohit Sharma's captainchip, India became the first team to win the T20 World Cup without losing a single match. However, it was Virat, who first revealed that it was his last World Cup in the shortest form for Team India.

In the post-match interview, Virat revealed that how there are days when you don't even get a run and then something great happens. He further shared that his aim was to win the ICC tournament and lift the cup before bidding goodbye to this form of International cricket. He added that he would have announced his retirement, even if India had lost the game.
Soon, Rohit also revealed that this was his last match in the T20 World Cup. He added that this was his last game, and there is no better time to say goodbye to the format. Sharing his thoughts further, Rohit said:
"I am completely lost and can’t say what kind of emotions I am going through. Can’t explain it in words. Let this sink in. Last night, I couldn’t sleep as I was desperate and wanted it so badly. But I managed myself well inside the ground."
