Akhilesh Yadav is the son of the late politician, Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was the founder of the Samajwadi Party. After his father's demise, he is doing his best to take Mulayam Singh Yadav's party, Samajwadi Party, to greater heights. Everyone witnessed a glimpse of the same when the Samajwadi Party won 37 seats in Uttar Pradesh out of 80 Lok Sabha seats, thrashing the Bharatiya Janata Party, who managed to get only 33 seats. The President of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav got 6,42,292 votes and had beaten Bharatiya Janata Party's Subrat Pathak by a margin of more than 1 lakh votes.
For the uninitiated, Akhilesh Yadav is the youngest Chief Minister in the history of Uttar Pradesh. On March 15, 2012, when he was elected as UP's Chief Minister, Akhilesh was just 38. After Akhilesh Yadav, Yogi Adityanath became UP's Chief Minister on March 19, 2017. However, after the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Akhilesh Yadav's name is once again on everyone's lips as the person, who will end Yogi Adityanath's tenure in Uttar Pradesh since 2017.

Akhilesh Yadav was born on July 1, 1973, in Uttar Pradesh's Saifai to his parents, Mulayam Singh Yadav and his first wife, Malti Devi. While giving birth to her son, Malti suffered some serious complications that put her in a vegetative state. For the unversed, vegetative state is a consciousness disorder in which a patient's brain is damaged to the extent that it remains in a partial arousal state. While Mulayam Singh Yadav was busy in his political career and Malti remained unhealthy throughout her life, Akhilesh was brought up by his paternal grandparents.
Akhilesh Yadav has a strong educational background, courtesy of his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav's strong emphasis on education. As per the official website of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh completed his schooling at Rajasthan's Dholpur Military School. After this, he went to the University of Mysore to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Civil Environmental Engineering.

After deepening his interest in environmental engineering, Akhilesh Yadav went abroad to pursue a Master's degree in the same subject. He took admission to the University of Sydney and completed a Master's degree in Civil Environmental Engineering. After completing his education, Akhilesh returned to India and kick-started his political career back in 2000, when he was elected to the 13th Lok Sabha from Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj in a by-election.

Dimple Yadav was born on January 15, 1978, to her father, Ram Chandra Singh Rawat, who is a retired Indian Army colonel, and mother, Champa Rawat. She is originally from Uttarakhand and completed her schooling at Lucknow's Army Public School. She graduated with a degree in commerce from Lucknow University.
Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav's filmy love story is one of the most popular love sagas in the political space. The husband-wife duo met for the first time through a mutual friend. At the time of their first meeting, while Akhilesh was 21, Dimple was just 17, and they instantly became friends. Due to their strong educational background, Dimple and Akhilesh started meeting quite often. It was the time when Dimple was completing her graduation at Lucknow University.

After both the families agreed, Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Rawat got married on November 24, 1999. The couple has three kids, Aditi Yadav, Arjun Yadav, and Tina Yadav. Once, in an interview with India Today TV, Akhilesh Yadav was asked to share his thoughts on caste politics. The politician clearly stated that he's not a 'casteist' and added that his wedding with Dimple Yadav is the biggest proof of this. He said:
"I am not a casteist. We both got married after breaking the wall of casteism. Dimple is from another caste and I am from another caste."

The political couple, Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav are working with all their energy and heart to take the Samajwadi Party to greater heights. Currently, both of them are leading in their respective constituencies, with Akhilesh Yadav eyeing his eyes on ruling in Uttar Pradesh.
