Akshay Kumar is known as the Khiladi of Bollywood . For the longest time in his career, he was known as an action hero. However, later, he tried to do versatile, comic roles along with socially relevant movies. His journey to fame started with an important role in Abbas Mustan's directorial, Khiladi . However, let's take you back to when Akshay revealed he was not getting entry into a gymkhana and said he was not a good actor.
An interview with Akshay went viral after he was first nominated for a Filmfare Award. It looked as if the interview had happened on one of his movie sets, as the actor was dressed like a fauji with cut marks on his face. He told the journalist that he never deserved the award and criticized himself for not being a good actor. Akshay then narrated an incident about his acting career and shared how he was once denied entry to a gymkhana. In Akshay's words:
"Even the critics knows that I am not a good actor. Even I know that I am not a good actor. I have to tell you something about acting. As I have been nominated for it which I don't deserve it. I remember about few days back I had gone to a gymkhana. I wanted to take admission in it. He just looked at me. And he said, no we don't give admission to actors.
Akshay has been one of the most talented and bankable actors in Bollywood. He was born in Amritsar, and his dad, Hari Om Bhatia, was an Indian Army officer. His mom, Runa Bhatia, had named the actor, Rajiv Bhatia.
The actor studied at Don Bosco High School in Matunga. During this time, he had learned Karate, and for his higher studies, he was at Guru Nanak Khalsa College. Reportedly, he dropped out as he was not interested in academics and had requested his dad to get training in martial arts. His dad then sent him to Thailand, and the actor went to Bangkok, stayed for five years, and learned Thai boxing, also called Muay Thai. Akshay had worked as a waiter to earn money during this time and then was promoted to the position of chef.
A report by News18 also claimed that the actor also worked in one of the hotels in Dhaka. During that time, he was 20, and his tasks involved cutting vegetables and looking after the catering section as an assistant help. During that time in the Hindi cinema, movies like Mr India, Jalwa , and Hukumat created noise, and Akshay was shaping his days of struggle for glory.
