Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are the ideal pair for Bollywood. The couple has been married for over 23 years and are still very much in love. Akshay and Twinkle have often shared how the other one has been a constant pillar of support for them. However, in a new interview, Akshay shared that he and his wife, Twinkle, have nothing in common.
Akshay Kumar has been busy promoting his upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein. The actor recently sat down for an interview with Galatta India and discussed his relationship with his wife and author, Twinkle Khanna. He said that Twinkle and he think differently and are poles apart. He was quoted as saying:

"Me and my wife are very different. We are poles apart. She thinks left, I think right."

Akshay added that the only common factor among them is that they sleep early and get up early in the morning or play games. But despite not having anything in common, they hold immense respect for one another. He said that respect and giving space to your partner is significant for a relationship. In his words:
"The only thing which is common in us is that we both like to sleep early and wake up early. Another thing which we like is playing Rummy or Ludo. Nothing else is common in us. But, its not just about that. Respect is the most important thing. It is important to give each other space. There are 36 traits in people, not necessarily they all have to be common in a couple. But if you have that one trait of respecting each other, I think its equivalent to having all the traits you need in a relationship."
In the same conversation, Akshay opened up about how he and Akshay have different approaches about certain things. He said that he often kept his thoughts to himself. On the other hand, Twinkle prefers to share her thoughts openly, and he usually tries to stop her. He said:
"I believe people should keep quiet. They should not comment on everything. Words can harm you a lot. A word can hurt you harder than a punch. Tongue can destroy relationships. It can create wars. You need to be very careful of what you speak. People call me diplomatic, well, be it so. I am diplomatic because I measure my words before saying it to anyone. I don't want to hurt anybody."
The Sarfira actor said he often knows many things but doesn't say anything about them. However, Twinkle doesn't follow that approach. He gave an example that if his wife, Twinkle, does not like a movie she has seen, she will openly convey to the producer that it wasn't good. But he tries to stop her despite knowing she is right because it can hurt someone.

Akshay Kumar married Twinkle Khanna after dating for a few years in 2001. They welcomed a son, Aarav, born in 2002 and a daughter, Nitara, born in 2012. On the work front, Akshay was last seen in the film, Sarfira, that failed to perform at the box office. He is promoting his upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein, co-starring Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu and more. He also has Sky Force, Singham Again, Jolly LLB 3 and Welcome To The Jungle in his kitty.
