Akshay Kumar, who has been in the profession for over three decades, is one of the biggest stars in the Indian film industry. He has made a name for himself with his versatile performances and has amazed audiences with his comedy, action and patriotic films over the years. Moreover, Akshay was most recently seen in the action film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, co-starring Tiger Shroff. Recently, the actor appeared on a talk show and shared that he is less educated than his wife, Twinkle Khanna.
Akshay Kumar graced his good friend, cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan’s chat show, Dhawan Karenge on Jio Cinema, and spoke at length about various facets of his life. While conversing, the cricketer shared that once, he accompanied Akshay’s family on a flight to Delhi, and during their journey, he played with the actor’s daughter, Nitara. Shikhar had asked a few riddles to her and she answered them correctly. In turn, Nitara also asked the cricketer some riddles. Shikhar heaped praise on Akshay’s daughter’s intelligence and remarked that she must have taken to the actor.

However, Akshay interjected the host and said that his children take after their mother, Twinkle Khanna’s intelligence. The actor shared that his wife is intelligent, and he’s illiterate as he has not studied much. When the host emphasised that both, Akshay and Twinkle, are intelligent, the actor discussed the stark contrast in their personalities and said:
“Main to anpadh aadmi hu, zyada padha nahi hu. Main gadha mazdoori karta hu, wo dimaag wali hai.”
Further in the conversation, Akshay talked about his son, Aarav. He shared that his son left home at the mere age of 15 to pursue his higher studies in London. The actor praised his son for being grounded and knowing how to do his laundry, wash utensils and cook for himself. Akshay also added that Aarav never asks for branded clothes, he prefers wearing secondhand clothes. Sharing that his son doesn’t want to act in films, Akshay said:
“My son Aarav is studying at the university in London. He left home at the age of 15. He was always fond of studying and wanted to stay alone. It was his decision to move even though I didn’t want him to go. He does his own laundry, he is a good cook, does the utensils and doesn’t even want to buy expensive clothes. In fact, he goes to a second-hand store, Thrifty, to buy clothes because he doesn’t believe in wastage. We never forced him to do anything; he is interested in fashion, he doesn’t want to be a part of cinema. He came to me and said that I didn’t want to do films. I said this is your life, do what you want to do.”

When Shikhar teased and asked Akshay Kumar where he prayed to get married to the daughter of superstar, Rajesh Khanna, the actor praised his wife. Akshay married Twinkle in 2001 and welcomed their son, Aarav, in 2002 and then their daughter, Nitara, in 2012. Talking about his marriage to Twinkle, Akshay shared:
“I am lucky to marry superstar Rajesh Khanna’s daughter but I am lucky that she is a lovely wife and a lovely mother. If you get the right partner in life, then your life is perfect. I go to work and she has taken such good care of my children. I am surprised about how my wife looks at life even today. She is 50 now and still goes to study. She has finished her master's and is now doing her PhD. There will be few people like me. When I go to London, I drop my daughter to school, drop my son at the university and finally drop my wife at the university. And then, like an ‘anpadh’, return home and watch cricket all day.”
