Bollywood actor. Akshay Kumar is going through a tough phase as his mother, Aruna Bhatia, passed away. A few days ago, his mother was admitted to the ICU of Hiranandani hospital in Mumbai. At that time, Akshay was shooting for his film, Cinderella, and he had returned to India upon hearing the news of his mother's illness.
On September 8, 2021, Akshay had taken to his Twitter handle and, with a heavy heart, announced his mother's demise. Akshay had tweeted, "She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti."

Recently, we stumbled upon an old interview with NDTV, wherein Aruna Bhatia had talked about her relationship with her son, Akshay Kumar. She had revealed that no one's child can be as loving as her son. She had said, "Itna pyaar karna wala baccha ho nahin sakta, itna dhyan karne wala baccha, ho nahin sakta (There can’t be a more loving and caring child than him)."
During the same interview, Aruna Bhatia had recalled how Akshay Kumar had handled things after his father's demise. She had said that he had never made her feel her husband's absence. She had shared, "He has always done whatever he wanted. And by the grace of God, it worked out. No one in our family is from the film line, so just looking at him on screen, gives me so much joy. He is not just my son. He is so much more than that. After my husband died, he handled everything so well that my pain was reduced. There’s no other son like him." Check out the video below:
On the occasion of Mothers day in 2020, Akshay had shared a beautiful picture with his mother. Alongside it, she had written, "Even in this day and age, you’re the only one whose one hand on my head can comfort me in troubled times because I know there’s nothing I can’t do with your blessings maa. Happy Mother's Day."
