Written by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pen name Lewis Carroll, Alice In Wonderland holds a special place in our teenage memories and it had taught us some major life lessons by taking us to an enchanting world. No matter how old we are, some childhood and teenage memories and lessons, that play an integral part in our personal journey, stay with us forever. The book had taught us to live every moment and nothing is impossible until you believe it to be. Fukrey co-stars, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal lived their Alice In Wonderland dream as they had taken a romantic getaway away from the distressing and unpleasant world we are living in now due to the pandemic. Richa and Ali had met on the sets of Fukrey and Bholi Punjaban had fallen for the struggling musician, Zafar bhai, in real-life and their love is growing stronger with each passing day. Reports were rife that Ali and Richa were planning a 2020 wedding but due to the pandemic, their plans have been postponed.
But the pandemic couldn't stop them from spending quality time together. Squeezing some quality time for each other, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha planned a getaway to the nature and beach. Sharing the glimpses of their outing, Ali gave Alice In Wonderland reference in the caption, which could be read as "@therichachadha Remember i told you i will bring Alice here..." Richa has an apt comment on his post, "All we have to do, is call Cheshire Cat and leave a note for Alice. She’s enjoying the wonderland" followed by heart emoticons.
Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal had featured on the cover of Brides Today magazine and had shared snippets of their love story. Richa had written a letter to her beau, speaking of how it was a miracle that she found someone with whom she can discuss literature, cinema, poetry, food and music. It stated, "So weird to write to you a letter when I can just call you…seems apt in view of this 21 days lockdown though. May we both emerge from this like butterflies from a cocoon. I keep saying it’s a miracle we met, because what are the odds? What are the odds of finding someone with whom you can discuss literature, cinema, poetry, food, music…? Someone who enjoys going on a run in the sultry LA afternoon and bargaining with peddlers at Chor Bazaar! You, my love, are the last of the Mohicans, as the cultured man ambles to his extinction, I am so glad I found you. Found you with your intact spine and balls of steel! That too in our business. We’re in equal measure reclusive and crazy extroverted—a healthy concoction for any artist. Oh, speaking of, thank you for celebrating my career." Throwing some light on the healthy evolution of their relationship and giving it an official sanction, Richa Chadha's letter had further stated, "Now don’t let it get to your head because I have heard, after a few years of marriage, people sometimes want to murder their spouse! I won’t act on any such fantasies on account of being vegan. We have grown together mentally, spiritually, and in our respective careers. And it’s a healthy evolution because we’ve marinated, not fermented and gone stale—its fresh, forward feel now every day! Now, before we bless the world by giving our relationship official/societal sanction remember, in the words of Javed Akhtar: “Hamari dosti itni pakki hai ki shaadi bhi iska kuch nahin bigaad sakti!”."
Ali Fazal too, reciprocated with a letter, expressing how his life wouldn't worth this much he hadn't known her. Ali began his letter with "My Princess, Oh well, what the hell, I can call you my wife I suppose. In very interesting and weird ways, it feels good. So me aware, I write this with the knowledge that someone will have their hands on this piece of paper and it shall be out for everyone to read. So I’ll tone down the goofy self and attempt to rise as the mighty lover with the magic pen/pencil. And so, in a sense this letter is to you, to me, and to every SHMOOP out there who’s dared to fall in love and has been played—LOVING 101. But I have to say this in a world mesmerised by rate, sometimes it takes an ounce of love to begin revolutions. And long live the revolution. Because I can make endless jokes, and go around in circles on pages and pages explaining what one lover has to say to another but, what really sticks is the need of the hour. My life, as I know it, couldn’t be worth much if I hadn’t known you. The world needs us. And we need us…Sarpalok bhi toh pahunchna hai yaar…(We have to reach the other almighty universe of the snakes)."
Concluding his letter with an Urdu poem, Ali Fazal asked his 'baby doll', Richa Chadha to earn more points to get the next pages, which will come in instalment to shower love on her. Ali had written, "Ab iskee aagey main zyaada bakunga toh nibhana mushkil ho jayega...40 saal baad ya 10 saal baad chitthi likhoonga. Phir naapenge ...hehehe… is baat se ek man pasand sher yaad aagaya ke (If I say any more it will be difficult to fulfill my promises. I will write to you after 40 or 10 years perhaps and then we will do a check. This reminds me of an Urdu poem). Main abhi se kaise tumhein bewafa kahoon Manzilon ki baat hai, raaste main kya kahoon Ghair poochhte rahe mere haal-e-gham Doston ki baat hai, Dushmanon se kya kahoon (I can not call you a betrayer yet, it is about our destination. I cannot say anything while we are on our journey—unknown people kept asking about my well-being, it is a matter between friends, what do I tell the enemies. The next few pages shall come in instalments so you need to earn points baby-doll, to get more love…" (Also Read: Kamya Panjabi Shares Her Unseen Wedding Picture To Say Something Special To Husband, Shalabh Dang)
