In October last year, we shared with you that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor might take the ‘great vow’ after the latter’s father, Rishi Kapoor’s recovery. A close family friend of the Kapoors threw light on the same and had shared, “She has been welcomed into the family by everyone. So it’s not just Ranbir who loves Alia. His parents, sister and the rest of the sprawling Kapoor family adore her too. Marriage is on Ranbir’s mind for sure and he will get into it happily this time. The couple will wait until Rishi Kapoor’s recovery before discussing a date for marriage.”
And now, as per the latest SpotboyE report, Ranbir and Alia’s family are considering marriage seriously and are also going to meet a pandit to lock in their wedding dates, after Rishi Kapoor returns to India this month. Speaking about the same, a source has revealed to the portal, “Bhatts and Kapoors will meet a Pandit together to zero down on some auspicious dates for the shaadi and one of those dates will be finalised. There is loose talk that the Pandit meeting date has been fixed up for April."
Isn’t it amazing? Also, as per a Mumbai Mirror report, the Brahmastra co-stars are all set to buy a new love nest together in New York City. As per the same report, the couple is also planning to make a ‘chic little studio’ their lover’s paradise. The report also states that Ranbir’s mom, Neetu Kapoor is bestowed with the responsibility of hunting a new house for the now what looks like, ‘soon-to-be-married’ couple. It was also reported that Neetu had checked out a few properties too, for the same.
Earlier, reports were rife that Alia and Ranbir were headed towards a 2020 marriage. On Ranbir’s 36th birthday on September 28, 2018, an insider told online portal BollywoodLife that the mommies were discussing about Alia and Ranbir’s marriage over the latter’s birthday dinner! Yes, a source revealed to the same portal, “Alia is in a great phase of her life right now. She is in love and they both are sure of each other. Marriage is certainly on the cards but it won't happen before 2020." (Must Read: Arjun Kapoor Shares A Birthday Wish For Half-Sister, Janhvi Kapoor, Says 'The World Is Your Oyster')

The Mulk actor had also shared sometime back that he feels its time Ranbir started thinking about his marriage seriously. Rishi Kapoor had revealed, “It is high time he got married. I settled down when I was 27, Ranbir is 35. So he should think about marriage. He can marry anyone of his choice; we don't have any objection to it. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I am gone.” He had further shared, “[Be it] Ranbir or his contemporaries, actors have blinkers on and are focused on their work. The only women they meet are the actresses. They don't socialise as much; that is the flipside of life in the movies.”
The Gully Boy star has time and again refuted her rumoured 2020 wedding and was quoted as saying, “I don’t understand the need for everyone to discuss this (my wedding) all the time. But then, I think to myself that it’s a simple question and my answer remains the same. If I’m not getting married right now, that’s what I’ll say. I’m happy being in a relationship, but that doesn’t mean I’m tying the knot just yet.”
Alia is one of the most promising stars of the tinsel town. With power-packed performances and amazing films in her kitty, the Raazi star is every director’s choice. Given that Kapoor bahus have given up their filmy careers post-marriage, will Alia follow suit? The source had further added, “Though other Kapoor bahus like Karisma-Kareena’s mom Babita and Rishi’s wife Neetu Singh gave up their careers after marriage, theirs was a voluntary decision. Alia will continue with her thriving career.” (Must Read: Akash Ambani And Shloka Mehta's Wedding Celebrations Begin With 'Anna Seva', Pictures Inside)
Speaking about career and marriage, Alia had once stated in an interview, “I would never fear getting married thinking my career might end. I will settle down if I want to. One should be able to have a career, regardless of being married or not.” The actress was all praises for her beau, Ranbir Kapoor, in an interview. Shedding light on the same, she had stated, “It’s been great working with him. It’s exactly how I imagined it to be. I’ve always thought that Ranbir is such an amazing actor. I’m at times shocked at how chilled out he is (laughs).”
Well guys, looks like we need to gear up for Alia and Ranbir’s probable 2020 wedding! How excited are you? Keep us posted!
