"On my wedding day, my makeup artist Puneet was like, 'Alia, this time you need to give me two hours.' I told her, 'You've lost it. Especially on my wedding day, I'm not giving you two hours because I want to chill.'"
The Raazi actress added that there is a special reason behind her choosing to go for quick and simple looks. Apart from her personal preference, she also has attention deficit disorder, or ADD, due to which she does not want to spend much time on makeup or styling. For the unversed, ADD is a kind of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. As a result, Alia tries to invest a maximum of 45 minutes for her makeup.
People always look up to actresses for inspiration on makeup, styling, and body size. However, in the same interview, Alia, amongst the fittest actresses in the industry, admitted that the film industry is rigid regarding beauty standards. She recalled that she was a healthy kid and was happy about it. Alia revealed she later struggled with body-image issues and often tried to lose weight as she was judgemental about her body. Even her friends tried to stop her perspective from changing only after she became a mother and was grateful for her body for the same. In her words:
"I was quite a chubby, healthy kind of kid, very happy with my life at the time. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the way I looked. I have struggled with body-image issues since then. No matter how much weight I lost, I always struggled. My friends would say, 'Alia, you need to stop dieting. Just be calm, live a little, eat some food.' And I used to be like, Once a fat kid, always a fat kid. I used to say that in my head, no matter how much weight I lost."
