Alia Bhatt is a terrific actress whose acting chops are like moving poetry on celluloid. Right from her debut at 19, she has effortlessly mastered the art and has been bagging many awards for the same. Recently, Alia lifted the iconic trophy of the ‘black lady’ at the Filmfare Awards 2023 for her impeccable performance in the film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.
On March 27, 2023, Alia Bhatt won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Female) for her stunning performance in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, Gangubai Kathiawadi. She was conferred the award by the legendary actress, Rekha herself. Since it had been a momentous event for her actress, she took to her social media handle and penned a note of gratitude for the important people in her life. However, what caught our attention was her heartfelt love expressed to her mother-in-law, Neetu Singh and father-in-law, late Rishi Kapoor. A section of her long-captioned post can be read as:
“And last but not the least! My beautiful family that grounds me and keeps me steady - Mama, Papa, Tanna I love you .. my other mom — my mom-in-law & my father-in-law up there whose blessing is always with me.”

Going ahead with her caption, the talented actress did not forget to include a few special lines for her darling hubby, Ranbir Kapoor and their bundle of joy, Raha, who had been the biggest support system behind her. From revealing how Ranbir motivated her every time she felt low, to her daughter, Raha, for bringing all the peace and calm in her life, she mentioned:
“My gorgeous husband, for hearing me rant about my day for hours and motivating me whenever I was down and out! And my baby girl, who wasn’t there at the time, but I will continue to thank for the rest of my life for the joy and peace she brings to me. Eternally grateful!”
Time and again, Alia Bhatt has often been attacked under the infamous debate of nepotism in Bollywood. While she belongs to an eminent film family and has gotten a lucrative debut arranged for her, she has paved her way through hard work to the top of the ladder of success. Speaking up on the same yet again, Alia, in an interview with Vogue magazine, broke her silence on being continually tagged as the ‘nepo’ kid. Calling the audience as the best judge of talent, she mentioned:
“The only thing I can do is build a body of work which hopefully proves I belong in this industry. And sure, it will get you in the room, but then it’s up to you to work that room. The audience is actually the best judge of talent. You could come from a background that props you up but the audience will ultimately decide whether or not you belong there."

Apart from being a brilliant actress, Alia recently got promoted as a mother with the arrival of her daughter, Raha Kapoor, on November 6, 2022. Since both she and her husband, Ranbir are famous actors, she does harbour a fear of keeping her daughter away from the media glare. Revealing how the new parents are very particular about their daughter’s privacy, Alia mentioned:
“Ranbir and I are very clear on how long we don’t want Raha to be in the public eye for. We don’t even want to post her pictures on social media. I just don’t feel comfortable with any sort of conversation around my little baby right now.”
