Vinta’s strong allegations against Alok Nath shook everyone from his fans to many industry people. The writer basically took to her social media account and opened up about the harassment that she faced 19 years ago during the shoot of a TV series named, Tara. In addition to the same, she stated that it wasn’t a one-time incident. As per the recent reports, the latest development that has come up is that Alok’s wife Ashu Singh has decided to move to the court following allegations on her husband.
According to The Times of India report, Alok Nath’s wife Ashu Singh has filed an application in Mumbai’s court to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, entreating the police to investigate the matter. Not just this, the couple has also filed a defamation suit against Nanda, seeking a compensation of Re. 1. According to Ashok Saraogi, the lawyer of the couple, Alok Nath and his wife's image has been damaged and this has sort of terrorised them. Ashok said, “A complaint was submitted to the police for defaming my client; we have also moved the court in the matter." And now, Nanda's lawyer has replied saying that they will fight it out legally. Here's what the official statement reads: On instruction of my client it is clear that we are going to fight out legally- so called defamation proceedings are not served upon us as yet - however and whatever the proceedings will be - we will deal with everything following due process of law - at the moment we are awaiting the decisions of various association where my client has filed her complaint like CINTAA - Cine & TV Artistes Association, SWA - Screen Writers Association, IFTDA - Indian Film & Television Directors Association. Mr Nath is supposed to reply to CINTAA by today evening, IFTDA by Thursday this week and SWA is meeting me today at 430pm to understand. Pursuant to decisions we will further decide our next step of action - it is pertinent to note my client is further humiliated in continuity for which we will legally take recourse ( we are team of lawyers who will help her get justice ) . She will not be deprived of any legal help she seeks .I would add: My client will not be intimidated by threats and defamation suits which are primarily meant to delay and distract from the gravity of the allegations. For the uninitiated ones, Vinta Nanda in her long Facebook post narrated all the incidents that Alok spiked her drink and raped her. She wrote, "I have waited for this moment to come for 19 years. He was an alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious but he was also the television star of that decade, so not only was he forgiven for all his bad behaviour, many of the guys would also egg him on to be his worst. I started to walk home on the empty streets.”

She further wrote, “Midway I was accosted by this man who was driving his own car and he asked me to sit in it and said he would drop me home. I trusted him and sat in his car. I have faint memory after that. I can remember more liquor being poured into my mouth and I remember being violated endlessly. When I woke up the next afternoon, I was in pain. I hadn't just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalised. I couldn't get up for my bed. I told some of my friends, but everybody advised me to forget about it and move on. The man found his way through the casting route and became one of the lead actors on the show.”
And went on to disclose, “He created an environment in which I was made to feel threatened, so I asked the producers to release me from directing the series because I didn't want to be around where he was. I continued to write the show. He asked me to come to his house again and I went to allow him to violate me. I needed the job and didn't want to leave it as I needed the money. It was after this that I quit. Don't hold yourselves back. This is a moment for change, so your silence will only hold barriers to its evolution. Speak out. Shout out from the top of the roof." On the other hand, when Alok Nath was asked to comment on the allegations against him, he said in a statement, "Neither I am denying this, nor do I would agree with it. It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it." (Don't Miss: Prince Narula And Yuvika Chaudhary Controlled Their Tears During Wedding Because Of This Bet)
