Afterwards, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Ameesha was asked about the same. To this, the actress, who never minces her words, shared that her parents no longer had the right to touch her money. Revealing how her grandmother was supporting her, she shared:
“Why should I feel ashamed? My money belongs to no one but me and not even my parents have the right to take it away. In fact, my grandmother is supporting me. My parents have fooled her too.”
For the unversed, Ameesha Patel was once in a relationship with Vikram Bhatt for almost 5 years before they called it quits ahead of the release of the filmmaker's film, 1920. Their proximity began when Vikram decided to make Ankahee, based on his own life, and the film had Ameesha as the lead actress, who portrayed the role of his abandoned wife. Gradually, Vikram and Ameesha became the anchor of each other’s life ship.

However, when Ameesha and Vikram parted ways on a sour note, he once said in an interview with a leading portal that the duo was never in love. While Ameesha had her own problems with her parents, they shared a common period of their lives where they were going through a low phase. They were actually good friends and would remain the same for the rest of their lives.
In reality, Ameesha’s legal case against her father was the reason for her breakup with Vikram Bhatt. It happened in 2004 when Ameesha's father used to manage her financial side. At that time, Amit used all of his daughter’s money to rebuild a business without even letting her know a bit about it. Thus, Ameesha took the case to court and asked him to return the money.
However, as per many reports, Ameesha’s parents also dragged in her then-boyfriend, Vikram Bhatt. However, Vikram spoke in his and Ameesha's defence and became a support system in her fight. But this allegedly ruined Vikram and Ameesha's relationship in some way.
