Ameesha Patel is enjoying the success of her film, Gadar 2 which is a sequel of 2001's film, Gadar Ek Prem Katha. Her role as 'Sakina' in the film left the audience highly impressed. After this, Ameesha has been baring her heart out on the '90s controversies and how there were films, which could have done well but didn't please the audience. Among them, one was with Salman Khan, which flopped badly because of his hit-and-run case.
Recently, Ameesha Patel talked about the reason behind the failure of her film, Yeh Hai Jalwa, opposite Salman Khan. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha shared that the film was amazing and the best ever made by David Dhawan. She added that Salman Khan looked amazing in the film, but the film flopped due to his hit-and-run case in the same year.

Yes, Ameehsa revealed that it was because of Salman's accident in the same year, and the media was so obsessed with it that their film got sidelined. She was quoted as saying:
"Yeh Hai Jalwa was one of David Dhawan's best films. Salman has never looked more handsome and the music and everything was good. But I think because earlier the media gave news the audiences were not so open about accepting some negative news about their favourite actors. Salman's accident had newly happened so Yeh Hai Jalwa got sidelined. Had the audience been open to it…that is one film that would have done really well."
It was September of 2022, when Salman Khan was arrested in the case of rash and negligent driving after his car ran into a bakery in Mumbai. The incident killed one, who was sleeping on the pavement outside the bakery, three were brutally injured. While initially the charges of the case of laid against the actor, later it was dropped as the driver admitted that it was him, who was driving the car.
