Amit Sial was born into a middle-class family on July 1, 1975, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Right from an early age, he was told by his mother to excel in every department and not just in studies. Courtesy of this, he tried his hand in sports, arts, and dramatics. When he was in fifth standard, he participated in a theatre play at Sheiling House School. Amit Sial loved the concept of a play and the way he rehearsed with others and finally performed on the stage. It was a magical moment for Amit to see many people clapping for him and his team, who performed brilliantly on the stage.
It was at that moment when Amit Sial had decided that he would make his career in dramatics. Years passed, and he continued to participate in school plays. After completing his schooling, Amit Sial left Kanpur and went to Delhi in order to pursue a bachelor's degree in commerce from Delhi University's Delhi College of Arts and Commerce. During his time in Delhi University, he joined the dramatics society, and it was when he indulged in auditions for some ads and performed in a series of plays.

After graduating from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Amit Sial's parents told him to go to Australia and study there to build a strong career. In the beginning, Amit turned down their advice as he wanted to build a career in acting, but after his parents started pressuring him, he went to Australia. Amit Sial's parents were reluctant to send him to Australia because they feared that if he remained in India, he would continue to try his luck in acting, which, in their opinion, was an unstable career.
Amit Sial took admission to Australia's Swinburne University of Technology, where he attained a master's degree in international business. While he was studying in Australia, Amit Sial did a lot of odd jobs in order to generate some money for his pocket money. The actor was studying there on an education loan and didn't want to trouble his parents for his expenses. From working as a taxi driver to washing dishes at a restaurant, Amit Sial did a series of odd jobs to survive in Australia.
As per multiple reports, Amit Sial joined a theatre group when he was in Australia with the money he used to earn, which made him realise that he was madly in love with acting. However, when he returned to India, he stopped doing theatre, and for his parents' happiness, he joined his uncle in his business. The actor was earning well, but then one day, he came across one of his old theatre friends, and he started doing theatre again. Without telling his parents about the same, Amit Sial was improving as an actor, and finally, there came a point when he realised that working as an actor gave him more happiness than earning from his job. It was when the 29-year-old actor left his job and became a full-time actor, leaving his parents worried about his career.
