Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. Apart from his exceptional acting prowess, he is also known for his luxurious lifestyle. Adding to his list of properties, Amitabh Bachchan bought a plot in a 7-star mixed-use enclave, The Sarayu, in Ayodhya. The project will formally launch on January 22, 2024, the day PM Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, it is stated that The Sarayu is being constructed by Mumbai-based developer, The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), and is spread over 51 acres. A real estate industry source revealed that the plot where Amitabh Bachchan intends to build a home is spread across 10,000 square feet and was valued at Rs.14.5 crores.

Amitabh Bachchan on building his new home in Ayodhya

Amitabh Bachchan's birthplace, Allahabad (now Prayagraj), is a four-hour drive from Ayodhya. Moreover, The Sarayu is located about 15 minutes away from the Ram temple and 30 minutes away from the Ayodhya International Airport. Speaking about his investment in the project, Amitabh said that Ayodhya holds a special place in his heart. He further revealed what attracts him to the city and added that he is looking forward to building his home in the global spiritual capital. Big B was quoted as saying:

“I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries. This is a start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital.”

Amitabh Bachchan leased his lavish office space in Mumbai to a music company for Rs. 2.07 crores

Earlier, a report by MoneyControl stated that Amitabh Bachchan lent out his massive office space in Oshiwara, Mumbai, to the eminent music giant, Warner Music India Limited. Comprising of four spacious units, the property is spread out across 10,000 square feet in total. The annual rent for the spacious office has been put out at Rs. 2.07 crores, of which Rs. 1.03 crores was paid to the actor in the form of a security deposit. The report further stated that the rent agreement has been signed for five years.

Amitabh gifted his bungalow, Pratiksha to his daughter, Shweta Bachchan

There is no denying that Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow, Pratiksha, is quite close to him. However, back on November 24, 2023, the actor handed over the keys of this bungalow to his daughter, Shweta Bachchan. According to a report published by the Economic Times, the transfer of the ownership was done through two separate gift deeds, each corresponding to a specific plot on which the bungalow stands. The report further stated that Big B paid a stamp duty of Rs. 50.65 lakhs for the transfer deed of the bungalow, which is valued at Rs. 50.63 crores.

Amitabh Bachchan broke down into tears as he bid goodbye to KBC

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan has been hosting the popular quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati for many years now. As the latest season of the show came to an end, the actor got emotional on the set. In one of the clips doing rounds on social media, Amitabh Bachchan was seen getting teary-eyed as he bid farewell to the show during the final episode. With folded hands, he thanked his audience and said:

“Devi aur Sajjano, ab hum jaa rahe aur kal se yeh manch ab nahi sajega. Apno se yeh keh pana ki kal se hum nahi aayenge, I don't have the courage to say these words, neither do I wish to say…Main Amitabh Bachchan iss daur ke liye, iss manch se akhri baar kehne jaa raha hu, Shubraatri.”

For the unversed, the project, The Sarayu, is scheduled to be completed by March 2028.
