No matter how old we get, our parents will always remain an integral part of our being. When we were young and silly, we always wanted to grow old and be like our parents. We thought that they are the luckiest people as they don't have to get up early and go to schools. We all know that Amitabh Bachchan's name speaks history and he is known as one of the strongest pillars of Indian cinema, thanks to his impeccable acting skills. But not many know that it was his mother, Teji Bachchan, who had introduced him to the creative world of cinema, arts and theatre. In one of his blogs, the actor had revealed how his mother had made him enter the world of theatre and ballroom dancing. We remember once in a blog post, Amitabh ji had revealed how he had gotten the 'Bachchan' surname, "Babuji was born in a Kayasth home and a Srivastav. But his temperament was always against the ailment of caste, so his nome de plume, his ‘takhallus’, his pen name he designed as ‘BACHCHAN’. Poets and writers of great eminence often designed their names with a nom de plume. So ‘Bachchan’ became my father’s pen name, his poetic nom de plume, but it lent credence of its concept later when I was born, on being admitted to my first School, and being asked by the teachers what surname of this boy was to be filled in the admission form my Mother and father had a quick discussion and it was decided that ‘Bachchan’ would be the family surname."
