While some people prefer to have late-night parties to celebrate the festive season, some prefer to have some quiet and peace time with their closed ones. The Bachchan family is known for the elitist parties that they throw and celebrating every festival with a lot of fervour and happiness. Every year we witness grand celebrations at the Bachchan’s house, however, this year, it was a quiet celebration for the family. With the demise of Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s father-in-law, the entire Bachchan clan kept it simple with a Diwali puja at their residence. Amitabh Bachchan shared some glimpses of the Diwali celebration at their residence with wife, Jaya Bachchan, son, Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. Amitabh ji tweeted, “Shubham karoti kalyanam, aarogyam dhan sampadaa, shatru buddhi vinaashaya, deep jyoti namostutey. Diwali greetings of love and happiness.”

Amitabh Bachchan turned 76-year-old on October 11, 2018, but this time, he was in no mood for celebrations. As per the reports, the source stated, “Shweta (Big B’s daughter) lost her father-in-law Rajan Nanda a few months ago, and her mother-in-law Ritu Nanda recently lost her mother. Krishna Raj Kapoor also passed away recently, and Rishi Kapoor, who’s one of Mr Bachchan’s favourite co-stars, is currently in the US seeking treatment for a serious ailment. Also, Abhishek Bachchan has often been targeted by the trolls on social media, for his professional as well as personal life. In a recent interview, he shared that he is not bogged down by this negativity and hate, but it only affects him because he realises that it must be hard on his parents, Amitabh ji and Jaya ji. Abhishek remarked, "At the start of my career, I was very confused when people were dedicating so much time and energy talking about the privilege that was afforded to me because of the home I was born. First and foremost, I did not choose the family I was born. It used to affect me because I used to feel bad for my parents."
Junior B went on to say, "At the end of the day, I'm a professional. I do something which evokes a response from the public and I'm well aware of that and perfectly fine with it. They are also actors that work in the same industry as their son. I am not going to equate myself to their talent. But as a parent, I think it must be terrible for them to go through all this. I can take care of myself, I am 42. But I'm still their child. I'm the youngest in the family."
Reminiscing about the time when Jaya ji broke down after he received his first award, Abhishek shared, "The first time I ever won an award for a film I did, my mother started crying. She was very emotional, and I understood where it was coming from. As a mother, she was happy that they have gone at my son for so long and this is his reply."
Abhishek was earlier targeted for living with his parents in a random discussion on Twitter when a Twitterati wrote, “Don't feel bad about your life. Just remember @juniorbachchan still lives with his parents. Keep hustling everyone!” and tagged Junior B in the tweet. Abhishek replied, “Yes! And it’s the proudest moment for me to be able to be there for them, as they have for me. Try it sometime, you might feel better about yourself.”
In a 2005 interview with Hindustan Times, Aishwarya also spoke about her husband, Abhishek living with his parents. She had then said, “It’s fine to live with your parents because it’s also common in India, we don’t have to take appointments from the parents to meet for dinner.” (Also Read: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Spotted In A Black Monokini, With Abhishek And Aaradhya, In A Pool In Goa)
