Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are hailed as one of the much-loved couples in the Hindi film industry. The duo got married on June 3, 1973 in Mumbai. Since then, the couple has been shelling out top-tier husband-wife goals. Jaya and Amitabh are parents to two children, Abhishek and Shweta, and they are happily settled in their personal lives. Well, on his work front, Amitabh is currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, wherein he has been sharing some unheard anecdotes about his personal life. Yet the same happened again, as Amitabh recalled his college days with Jaya Bachchan and their love story.
In one of the recent episodes of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Amitabh Bachchan shared some anecdotes about his and Jaya's personal life. A contestant asked the actor what he used to call his wife before and after marriage, as he knew Jaya even before they were married. To this, Amitabh shared that he used to call Jaya with her name only before they got married.

The contestant further asked Amitabh Bachchan if he used to call his wife 'Jaya ji'. Replying to the same, he added that the 'ji' was used after their marriage, as he believed in giving the actress respect. The contestant further asked Big B about who made the first move in his relationship with Jaya. Replying to the same, he shared that there was nothing such as making moves, as they used to meet as normal friends, and they had a common group. He said:
"Nai aise hi milte jhulte hum log ka ek jhund tha jaha humlog ek saath milte julte thei, ghoomte phirte thei. Ek hamari film thi joh hum logo ne saath mei ki. Uska naam tha Zanjeer."
Amitabh added that he and Jaya had done the movie, Zanjeer together, and their love story began when their friends had decided to go to London if the movie would do quite well at the box office. Big B revealed that their movie did actually well at the box office, and they all acquired permission to go to London. But his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan mentioned that Jaya could go to London with Amitabh if only they would get married before. Thus, they got married and went to London.

In his book, Afternoon Of Time, Harivansh Rai Bachchan shared details about Amitabh Bachchan's wedding. As per a report by Reddif, there were only five baraatis at Big B's wedding. He also shared that the wedding took place at Amitabh and Jaya's friend's home on the top floor of the Skylark building in Malabar Hills, and the actress' family was not very much delighted.

Harivansh Rai Bachchan stated that the wedding was a hush-hush affair, and no one, including the neighbours, had any idea about it. After all the events were over, he hugged Jaya's father and expected him to say something about his respect for Jaya. However, the latter mentioned that his family was ruined.
