Amitabh Bachchan, the iconic host of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 (KBC 16), recently warmed hearts by sharing lighthearted and endearing anecdotes about his life with his wife, Jaya Bachchan. During the ‘India Challenger Week’ segment of the show, Big B's humorous yet romantic revelations added a personal touch, charming audiences and contestants alike.
In the latest episode of KBC 16, the audience got to witness the rare romantic side of Amitabh Bachchan when he revealed some anecdotes from his domestic life with Jaya Bachchan. During a segment of the popular show, a contestant asked Big B if Jaya Bachchan often asked him to bring something home. Amitabh’s cheeky reply left everyone in splits when he said:
“Bilkul kehti hain. Keh deti hain, ‘Apne aap ko le aana ghar!’”
In the same context of discussion, aside from the fun quips, Amitabh shared a sweet habit of his which left everyone in awe of his care for the little things that make his wife happy. The megastar revealed that whenever he sees street children selling jasmine garlands, he buys them, either to gift Jaya or keep in his car to enjoy their fragrance. He was quoted as:
“Jaya Ji ko gajra bahut pasand hai, toh raaste mein jab chhote bacche haar bechne aate hain, toh main unse kharidta hoon aur woh haar kabhi Jaya Ji ko deta hoon ya kabhi gaadi mein rakh leta hoon, kyunki unki mehek acchi lagti hai.”
In the same episode, another fun moment unfolds when the contestant asks Amitabh Bachchan if he has ever withdrawn cash from an ATM and checked his account balance. The actor admits that he does not understand how to use the ATM, so he asks his wife for cash whenever he needs it. Big B was heard saying:
“Na toh hum apne paas cash rakhte hai, na kabhi ATM gaye hai, kyunki humein samajh nahi aata ke karte kaise hai. Lekin Jaya ji ke paas hota hai. Main unse paise maangta hoon.”
The light-hearted banter didn’t stop there. Amitabh also revealed some relatable anecdotes from the Bachchan household which prove that that some problems are not limited to middle-class households. At one point, Bachchan shared the common domestic issue of losing the television remote, quipping that it is usually hidden between two sofa cushions. When such a thing happens, he directly controls the TV from the set-top box.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan tied the knot in 1973 and have since been one of the evergreen couples of Bollywood. They share two children, Abhishek Bachchan, a popular actor, and Shweta Bachchan, an author and entrepreneur.
